Warning!

Might be (for some) a T.L.D.R. post, especially if you click on the links.............

So I have dropped my car off with OC Davies Cardigan this morning, for its first service and rear camera issue which I have had from new.

The date was agreed a few weeks ago when I told them that I would not be returning to their Carmarthen branch anytime soon, after the debacle and disrespect shown to me and my car last time out. (MG Informed)

I've demonstrated the issue to the Master Tech, so they are completely clear about what my issue is.

The first service is a visual inspection and pollen filter change which I expect will be a breeze for them to accomplish.

I have asked for the software to be updated to R59, but they couldn't promise that they could get this from MG!???

Edit: Just had a call and they can do it.?

To that end, I've left the car with them until Saturday morning so they have plenty of time to sort it out.

I've been given a brand new MG HS PHEV which is very pleasant but still has no interior rear light, or none that I could find after parking in a dimly lit car park just now.

What is it with SAIC and decent interior illumination?

If you want to see how I was treated the last time I put myself in the hands of the dealer network, links will be at the bottom of the post.

Not a duplicate, takes you to part two of my problem...

OK, so all done.

Picked the car back up this morning at 10.

It was without doubt, a very much more enjoyable experience than my last visit to OC Davies Carmarthen branch.

The Tech who serviced the car was waiting for me in reception and was able to tell me that my main issue (The rear camera) had been changed and the car was now fixed.

He also told me they had charged the car to 100%.

I said "Oh thank you, I wasn't expecting that"

When I retrieved the car it hadn't been charged at all.
In fact it had dropped by 1%. ?
Honestly.

I haven't needed to look at the pollen filter as according to my service sheet, it is indeed every two years. (As I suspected)

I know they checked my tyre pressures as they were all back to 37psi and my vibes were back to pre 40psi levels. I.E. Much more noticeable.

I very much doubt, number 32 on the check sheet was done, despite being ticked.
There was a light dusting of dirt on the wheels at drop off, and this has not been disturbed at all.
He may have only touched the tyre so I can't be 100%

They also ticked 41 for a road test.
This was not done.
(Glad about that)

Overall, I am happy enough.(Yippee?)

The R59 update was done.

One step less to turn off the LKA.

Although I noticed that when it was on, it was more inclined to just give a warning beep and not tug the wheel.

More miles required to see what its really like compared to R46.

Will add more later if I think of anything else.

£97 seems fine to me. Glad they sorted the camera.

Agreed ?

A bit dearer next year, but they will have a bit more to do.

Two warranty issues in one year, is more than on any other previous new car I have owned, but overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Thanks for posting this ... must have missed it previously !

Had mine done yesterday ... very similar paperwork with full invoice, stamped inspection sheet etc. ... which confirms everything was OK.

They did do a 3 mile test drive with mine ! and my Life360 app highlights it as a "risky drive" ??. Probably just testing the brakes though which they cleaned up a bit and sent a video with all wheels off checking pads etc. ... so a pretty thorough service. According to my MG Smart app they spent about 2 hours on it in total.

I'll probably ring the AA in a few days and doublecheck that I'm still covered.

Anyone know if the AA cover is just for the car ? .... as some policies cover the named driver in any car.
