Xpower, the right choice?

Just drove the Xpower and Trophy. Being honest the sport mode on Xpower isn't for me. Just too much Welly that I'll have no opportunity to use on these local roads.

Eco or normal mode was a pleasure. Turns out I'm not the adrenaline junkie I thought I am.

Xpower had a slight edge in terms of it's drive and feel. And interior/ exterior changes were noticeable to me. Loved the Xpower vibe.

Am I a complete spoon if going for an Xpower and driving it on eco though ? that's what I am wrestling with.
You love the X Power Vibe, you're the only one, then. ??
Not a complete Spoon, after all it's up to you. But driving an X Power in eco, ain't for me. I find normal mode, is still bloody fast! And when I'm in the mood, (Which to
be honest, is most of the time) it's gotta be Sports mode. ??
But as I say, it's totally up to you. ?

Current best PCP prices I can get are 26kfor Trophy and 29k Xpower. £50 a month difference.

That's with 2.9% - better cash prices available but not helpful for me. Anything lower price is 8.9% Apr.

They are close enough to make both tempting.

Leaning Xpower.... Slightly

Where the XPower comes in to its own for me is national speed limit A roads, acceleration out of the bends is just awesome and it's handling is more than good enough for me. I did push the limits once and came close to a kiss with a barrier as I powered out of a sharp bend but that just got my heart going a little more!

Around the local streets doing 0-20 in 1 second here in Wales isn't as much fun :)

Yes a complete bloody Spoon!
And don't forget the Fork N Knife!!!?

You buy an X Power with your heart not with your head.

The fact that you are struggling to make up your mind means it's probably not for you.

I saw it.
I drove it.
I bought it.

Had mine over a year now and I'm still bloody giggling!

You can get, X Powers now, well cheaper than the Affinity scheme. X Powers on the scheme at the moment are. £31,800
Brand new, X Powers are going for between £26-27,000. Any colour.
If you're in business, you can get one for£25,350. Insane!

If it is any help, I am getting the X Power not for the power but because of the whole package.
My tother half will be with me most of the time when I drive it and shall I say she moans when I boot my 110bhp Nissan Leaf?.
She does not know the MG will be 4 times the power, or my Leaf plus the Tesla and then some?.
With her in the car it will be eco or normal at most if I am brave.?
Sure on my own I will have a bit of fun in sport but I have a Tesla now, only the standard one at 300bhp but the majority of the time I drive it in chill which tames it somewhat.

In a nutshell in my head I said Trophy but my heart said X Power and my heart won.
But I would advise you look at insurance costs before deciding.

? Yes that is helpful.

I do expect the speed to grow on me. I used to think my mini s was "nippy" and have just had my world turned upside down and have slight whiplash. But would love to drive it again....

Extra benefit of the Xpower is that you will develop a bloomin strong neck!

We bought ours from this dealer.

I’ve been speaking to this dealer and their price with a 2.9% PCP is the best deal I can find, just waiting to ensure it’s the final price, admin fees included. I don't trust sales people but their reviews are reasonable. How was your experience?

Had another test drive in the Xpower—big rush this time! I exercised a "little" more control on the throttle and had lots of fun.

As for the colour, it’s official—no green available and none more coming in, so orange it is!

Assuming everything checks out, the order will be placed tomorrow!

Excellent! Welcome to Team Tango!

Haha ?

On a more serious valuation note people forget that apart from the obvious performance difference there are many other improvements in the Xpower that IMHO make it a bargain when comparied against the other MG4 models.

I know that to look at the Xpower seems the same as other models but underneath there is the following extra features, all for a bargain price IMHO :-

- an all-new dual motor configuration that delivers up to 320kW and 435PS to all four wheels, via front (150kW) and rear (170kW) electric motors

- A comprehensive series of suspension upgrades featuring recalibrated spring and damper tuning, stiffer anti-roll bars and sharper steering. Overall suspension stiffness has been increased by up to 25%

- bigger brakes via uprated, ventilated 345mm discs on all four corners, with new premium Bridgestone Turanza tyres offering excellent levels of grip without compromising rolling efficiency.

- decent 18" alloy wheels

- an enhanced drivetrain that features sophisticated new technological upgrades to effectively distribute power and maximise driver engagement while cornering

- Dynamic Cornering Control System featuring a locking electronic differential and Intelligent Motor Control to allow torque vectoring between all four wheels, generating maximum traction and outstanding composure in a wide range of driving conditions

This is what I have been using to convince the wife. It's not about the power, it's about the AWD and the additional safety. It's about the amazing brakes..... Yes...

It worked, SOLD! Xpower Orange from the dealer in Poole.
