Zs ev charging

That is what I mean, use the tesla network with your MG... yes that is now possible.
thats true, I used Tesla and work very nice. Tesla is best solution for me. I am exploring too Shell solution, but no experience for now.

Yes, it seems @Tone68 is a little confused
just take your MG car, go to the Tesla Supercharger and charge your MG with this station :) of course you need install Tesla App and register yourself on it.

About what? ??

I don't have a Tesla account, so I'm not sure what you mean by "now you can". Not sure why I would need to use Tesla chargers anyway.

Your MG can charge at open Tesla superchargers.

The reason why this is a good thing is that not only are they one of the most reliable networks, they are also the cheapest.

exactly. Tesla charger I am using because is fast, is cheap and is the same on all Europe. No need study new supercharger

in my case, since April when I got my second-hand ZS Mk2, I only once went to check whether Tesla works on mine - (had to pay parking fee to get to the charger) and only once more I used public charger when I wanted to top up.
I guess some people travel long distances more often and want to have an option to stop at Tesla charger.

It would be best if other companies joined with similar offers of charging stations like Tesla. Unfortunately, IONITY is, in my opinion, an overpriced network, and charging on it makes electric cars - in terms of costs - more expensive than diesel cars. Almost 1 € per kWh is damn expensive, and that's even with European subsidies. If they want users to switch to electric cars, they need to start here. If charging costs were halved, such a network would make sense. Otherwise, it's just a subsidy nonsense. Of course, if you have a VW and get their card, you charge at a different price. But why? The money (to subsidy) comes from everyone, including those who bought an MG.

Maybe Shell will interesting charging network. We will see.

IONITY DIRECT

21,00 CZK/kWh

no monthly fees, no subscription, price include local VAT

With IONITY DIRECT you can charge your vehicle at all charging stations in the IONITY network. If you rarely travel long distances or only want to use highway rates occasionally, IONITY DIRECT is the right choice for you: without registration or advance planning, the rate enables spontaneous charging.
  • no registration required
  • no subscription / no fees
  • standard tariff per charged kWh / per charged minute
  • payment via smartphone app or QR code
or

PASSPORT MOTION

15,00 CZK/kWh

plus 99,00 CZK for the first month*
then 142,00 CZK per month

Yes seems quite expensive there.
I have the passport motion.

Except that one has to pay a flat rate. If I were to compare with the competition, Tesla is cheaper, Shell is cheaper, Lidl is cheaper, Czech ČEZ is cheaper. And yes, IONITY very fast charging, which Tesla also has. However, unusable for most cars.
Given that they received subsidies, I would have expected a better offer. But the matter will not be solved by subsidies, but by the market, by competition.

and that's even with European subsidies
There are no European subsidies on EV chargers. Here in France petrol and diesel have been subsidised since Russia went for a wander next door. But not EV chargers.

Makes perfect sense, the government subsidises EV purchases allowing private charger companies to profit from unsuspecting new owners, whilst applying dissuasive initial purchase taxes on ic cars and subsidising their fuel. ?

Our domestic electricity is "subsidised". Although what that really means is that it doesn't shoot up in price when markets do, but then it doesn't come down either. So no big surprises, just expensive electricity!

Hi, haven't got my glasses. Does it say there are subsidies on pricing in there? It was five years ago, and I think it's just a classic European waste of money to try and create infrastructure... which Musk did better all by himself (although he does seem to have let his grandeur go to his head somewhat).

I live in France with a brace of evs. I charge from my solar. But when travelling needs must. When I check the rates on chargers nearby, Ionity are 61centimes per kWh, Total are 65, Lidl 44, and Izvia 39. So if that's a subsidy, they can stick it.

I agree, I see it as a waste of money. The market could do better. As the Tesla Supercharger proves. After all, even others such as LIDL and Shell are cheaper. Yes, the money was already given a years ago, but I would expect such a project to be characterized by making emobility more accessible. And there is no better motivation for switching to emobility than to show that the operation of such a ev car is cheaper. But with IONITY, an ordinary driver who does not have a tariff or the right car drives for more than in a diesel. most people wan't register on every chargers networks, they only wish charge and go away :)

If you ever go to the Czech Republic, I recommend Tesla (0.51€), Lidl (0.4€) or ČEZ (0.5 - 0.7€). Shell is here too new and somewhere cheap about 0.4-0.5€. Of course LiDL has only 50kW but Tesla 150, so for MG it is ok.

I plan travel sometime to France to Nice - so I will study Izvia :)

I think you might the car manufacturer backing, which is more extensive than the EU money to build out the network, has more to do with the inflated prices. After all, most of the brands involved have their own discounted tier if you buy one of their cars...
