MG4 in Thailand have a same LKA problem.
I had the LKA updated a little while ago. I didn't realise it was on when I drove home from the dealer. When I did, I turned it off and it has stayed off since then, so I don't have to turn it off all the time.Out of interest, on the zs you can set the LKA to vibrate (or give audible warning) rather than pull the steering wheel. Is this not an option on the MG4? If it is, can this be the default? Just wondering.
My dealer is a small independent in Halesworth, Suffolk. Hammonds. Can i ask which dealership ?
I called my one they said there is no way they can disable it for good. You will have to disengage before every single journey.
But surprisingly they said noone has raised any written complaints about it.
I did![]()

They don’t engage with us because we make things up remember?Direct them to this thread - there’s plenty in writing about it on here!
What they told me is for them to pass on all these complaints they need to hit a certain number so they know it is an important issue that needs to be dealt with. If only 3-5 people brought this up they will just shut us up by saying we need to wait for the next software update.Direct them to this thread - there’s plenty in writing about it on here!
I ll be honest even though you are paying fortune for what you get you still want things to be working for you perfectly. Adding new tech in the cars supposed to make things easier but in this case its really a pain.I have my MG4 ordered to be delivered. However I currently own an EV where I can easily disable the LKA (via button), because if I do not disable it, UK roads mean I often cross the white line and it becomes annoying at best, dangerous at worst. The only place it is remotely useful is on the motorway of long dual carriageway.
From reading this, I would hate to pick up a new car whereby I cannot permanently disable or enable LKA.
Also send a copy to NCAP so they know what the consequences of their recommendation/ruling regarding LKA is.I ll be honest even though you are paying fortune for what you get you still want things to be working for you perfectly. I guess we will all have to write a proper complaint to our dealership telling them about our experiences and make them push for the update - before someone really gets hurt !
Unfortunately not ? You can only have it on, or off. The only variety of LKA strength seems to be determined by which version of the software that has been installed.I have a version of lane keep assistant on my current car. And I can vary the sensitivity in Settings. I can recall being told at the time that the insurance companies like LKA and having it can reduce your insurance premiums.
As a customer waiting delivery, can I ask:
On the MG4, can you vary the sensitivity of the LKA?
Yes you can vary the sensitivity, on my car at least after latest update. Settings do not persist after restart though.I have a version of lane keep assistant on my current car. Where can you adjust the sensitivity @Crawfyp ?Yes you can vary the sensitivity, on my car at least after latest update. Settings do not persist after restart though.
I noticed it yesterday, had mine updated on Monday. I‘m not with car at the moment, I’ll take photo. From memory, it was under the LKA on/off and it was low/medium/high. I’ll take a pic this evening when I leave work.Where can you adjust the sensitivity @Crawfyp ?
All I see is enable or disable.
When LKA is on I get 3 options. One is for alert only which just bongs as you leave the lane, the next for assistance which steers as well, but not too wildly and the third I can't remember and haven't tried, but I guess is stronger assistance. I'll have a look when I'm next in the car.I noticed it yesterday, had mine updated on Monday. I‘m not with car at the moment, I’ll take photo.
