MG4 Lane keep assist

Out of interest, on the zs you can set the LKA to vibrate (or give audible warning) rather than pull the steering wheel. Is this not an option on the MG4? If it is, can this be the default? Just wondering.
I had the LKA updated a little while ago. I didn't realise it was on when I drove home from the dealer. When I did, I turned it off and it has stayed off since then, so I don't have to turn it off all the time.
I had a quick play with it today on a dual carriageway. I deliberately drove out of lane and it nudged the car back in a reasonable way and put me about mid lane. I can set it to just give an audible warning and not pull on the steering which also seemed to work ok. Using the indicator suppressed LKA as it should.
So it doesn't seem too bad. I've still turned it off as I still find it an odd feeling when the car takes over!

Can i ask which dealership ?
I called my one they said there is no way they can disable it for good. You will have to disengage before every single journey.

But surprisingly they said noone has raised any written complaints about it.

I did :)
My dealer is a small independent in Halesworth, Suffolk. Hammonds.

So, 1st drive home since updates. I left LKA switched on. It has 2 modes, Emergency Lane Keeping and Lane Departure Assist. The ELK is still not good but the LDA left on was actually fine. The sensitivity has certainly been looked at. I only had it gently correct twice on the way home when I had ACC on and I deliberately strayed over line slightly. Certainly a big improvement. It still niggles me that I can’t switch it off and have it stay off, also, selecting LDA rather than ELK within the LKA settings does not persist after restarts.

Direct them to this thread - there’s plenty in writing about it on here!

What they told me is for them to pass on all these complaints they need to hit a certain number so they know it is an important issue that needs to be dealt with. If only 3-5 people brought this up they will just shut us up by saying we need to wait for the next software update.

I have my MG4 ordered to be delivered. However I currently own an EV where I can easily disable the LKA (via button), because if I do not disable it, UK roads mean I often cross the white line and it becomes annoying at best, dangerous at worst. The only place it is remotely useful is on the motorway of long dual carriageway.
From reading this, I would hate to pick up a new car whereby I cannot permanently disable or enable LKA.

I ll be honest even though you are paying fortune for what you get you still want things to be working for you perfectly. Adding new tech in the cars supposed to make things easier but in this case its really a pain.
I guess we will all have to write a proper complaint to our dealership telling them about our experiences and make them push for the update - before someone really gets hurt !

Also send a copy to NCAP so they know what the consequences of their recommendation/ruling regarding LKA is.

I have a version of lane keep assistant on my current car. And I can vary the sensitivity in Settings. I can recall being told at the time that the insurance companies like LKA and having it can reduce your insurance premiums.

As a customer waiting delivery, can I ask:
On the MG4, can you vary the sensitivity of the LKA?

Unfortunately not ? You can only have it on, or off. The only variety of LKA strength seems to be determined by which version of the software that has been installed.

Yes you can vary the sensitivity, on my car at least after latest update. Settings do not persist after restart though.

Where can you adjust the sensitivity @Crawfyp ?
All I see is enable or disable.
I noticed it yesterday, had mine updated on Monday. I‘m not with car at the moment, I’ll take photo. From memory, it was under the LKA on/off and it was low/medium/high. I’ll take a pic this evening when I leave work.

In my SE SR there are other settings below the LKA slider. (Can't recall from memory what they are though, but they do relate to sensitivity settings).

Has anyone actually come across any written confirmation/legislation from NCAP or otherwise that this must default to on after every start?

When LKA is on I get 3 options. One is for alert only which just bongs as you leave the lane, the next for assistance which steers as well, but not too wildly and the third I can't remember and haven't tried, but I guess is stronger assistance. I'll have a look when I'm next in the car.
