Hi! New owner of a 23 Plate, Camden Grey MG 4! Absolutely love it, couple of issues this first week.

I get an AutoHold Fault - at the start of every journey, no idea why or what could be causing it but ive got it in to be serviced next week. But wondering if anyone knows what could have caused this?

The second thing, is the electric shocks, every time I get out the car, touch the door to shut it - and I get jolted, bigger than touching A trolley but less than sticking your finger in a wall socket - but still gives me a fright every time I need to lock up ahah! I never get one when I open the car, its only after I get out. Ive also tried powering down prior to exiting the vehicle.

Any advice?

Thanks

I get the auto hold fault when the infotainment hasn't started up quick enough I've noticed as I can recreate it by hard reseting the headunit while driving

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Do you get static from other cars and trolleys as it could be something you are prone too? You see some cars with anti-static strips on the back of them.

Yes, I sometimes get a "zap" when I get out of mine and touch the door metal. (Mine is Camden Grey too). :)

And as above, I also sometimes get an auto-hold fault. I've not bottomed out why, but @Ayoull's suggestion above seems plausible.

Lack of grease on the brake calliper pins, pads are binding.

Yes, I think SAIC thinks it's fine to send vehicles to market with no grease on the slide pins for some reason.
As for shocks, regularly wearing velour tracksuits ?? Very nice.
Same on most cars for at least the last 20 years and dealer servicing doesn't usually add any either, whereas independent garages do. :(

Blame it on the weather!

Colder weather brings much lower levels of humidity - this increases the chance of static shocks. Might get less shocking for you when our weather warms up ⚡
