Mg4 Windscreen Reflection Issue

You shouldn't get dust on the inside of your screen. Is the filter missing?
The insides of windscreens are usually covered in contaminants evaporating from all the various plastics they put in cars these days rather than dust.

Hi DerekH,
Did you buy a MG dash mat?
Any chance of some photos?
Nothing but rain in the east since jan 1st
Thanks in advance.

Here you go.

The part directly under the windscreen with the cut-out sections could probably do with ironing.

With my car the windscreen seems to get a film of reflective filth and this causes a glare from the dashboard and a "double" glare from outside lighting. Especially noticeable with older Audi style DLR. Cleaning the dashboard with lukewarm water and the windscreen with specialised cleaning agent seems to work for a couple of thousand Kms.

I may be wrong but I think I read somewhere that pollen/cabin filters only come into play on recirculation. The idea is you recirculate and filter the air in the cabin, shutting outside air off.

Wouldn't be much of a pollen filter if it only worked on recirculated air. I don't know about the MG but most cars have the pollen filter on the cabin side so it filters both outside air entering the car and recirculated air.

Another thing to try to lessen the reflection is to give the windscreen a good wipe over with a damp microfibre cloth followed by drying with a clean dry microfibre cloth. Then do the same to the dashboard. Just don't do it when it's hot and sunny otherwise the streaks will dry before you can use the dry cloth.
This will remove the deposit on the windscreen dull the "polish" that dealers like to spray everywhere when doing the PDI.
