If you think England is bad you should come to WA. we have plenty of both extremes. Idiots weaving in and out and tailgating, trying to force the person in front to speed up or slow down. This behaviour isn't helped by the other extreme, also idiots sitting in the outside lane 10km.hr under the speed limit.
I tend to agree if everybody stuck to the speed limit, things would run much smoother.
In varying conditions, if it's not an emergency, just being patient, and fitting in with the traffic, helps reduce the stress, passing when there's plenty of room to do so, not forcing anybody else to brake, all helps. Just common courtesy I guess.
I enjoyed driving Italy, they seemed to have it about right on the motorstradas, but that was 15years ago.
