Electronic Parking Brake - EPB

The EPB on my ZS EV sometimes fails to engage. I bring the car to a stop, by using regenerative braking and the foot brake. I then operate the EPB switch and you can hear the brake motor whirr but the brakes don’t stay on. Its just had its first service and there was no fault code registered, and they’ve requested a video of the fault. Has anyone else had this problem?

not something you should delay fixing. have you tried switching an auto hold system so that as soon as you stop, it engages by itself? is that working?

The auto hold has an identical issue. It also occasionally fails to engage.

definitely something you need fixing by the dealer - it may even be under warranty. not sure what system MG uses but if same as my old car, if you can hear the whirring sound, that's the handbrake motor working so it's most likely the cable slipping. if there is no chance you can record it on the phone somewhere safe, just tell the garage you can't drive and record at the same time just to get 6 points on your licence ...

Thank you for your replies. It is still under warranty so I will phone the service manager at MG Guildford and get it booked in.
