MG4 Software Update Thread

Going to have to visit my dealer again soon.
My car just ticked over 14000 miles, and now I get a "Service car SOON!" popup.
The car was serviced 5000 miles ago, so they obviously forgot to reset the service counter.

Nope - permanent turn off is not available*, nor on the horizon. The pull down option simply makes it easier to turn it off whilst you're on the move.

* except for some few people who seem to have software conflicts working in their favour.

It wasn’t clear from the poster or other posters what they were meaning that it was a quick access rather than going through the car menu function.

Hi, everyone.
I'm based in Portugal and I'm picking up a new MG4 Standard (51kWh, basic equipment) next week.
Should I call in and demand the dealer to update the software to the latest version?

Happy to report that my new MG4 Standard was on R33 and all functions as per @siteguru's thread seem to be present.

Did my first 300km with the car and I'm happy with it so far. I'll also mention that LKA's actions have been quite mild (and actually helpful) and therefore haven't felt the need to turn it off.

You are very lucky, there has been no update since the MG4 came to Turkiye, there is no ISMART, there is no Turkish language option.

I can really reset mine from the wheel last time I checked.

Imagine releasing a feature so bad that the biggest request is the ability to shut it off permanently

And then releasing an update (r59) that disables direct access to the quickest (yet still too slow) method to disable it when using AA or AC. It is a true mess....

That's a 1300R59 issue ... 1100R33 on the SE (which implements that same feature) doesn't have that issue (as far as I've noticed).

I do not have access to it so I cannot verify it. Maybe someone here could check this? Does it happen on AA and AC? Or only on one of them?

I do not understand your question, but this is the behaviour of R59:
You can drop down the AC screen pulling down the centre of the screen, and the quick menu access to ELK, ESP, WiFi, hotspot, etc pulling down the top right corner.

HOWEVER, none of those pull-down shortcuts work if you are on the Android Auto screen, as the Android version of R59 does not allow overlays in Android Auto mode by design (security feature). You have to go first to the home screen to be able to pull down those menues.

Why 'a security featurec of AA does not allow for a security feature of the car to be used is beyond me though ..

Seems reading this thread this is quite old?

I'm noticing odd things like the regen mode is always 3 when I start.

The Traffic Jam assist is super jittery.

Bluetooth phone issues.

No outside temp displayed.

I have a one pedal drive toggle but I can never enable. Says low charge or something.

I'm going to ring the dealer and see if they can do an upgrade but before I do just wondering is this number actually low or is there different variants as I don't have Nav.

OPD will only work if your battery is below about 90%.

You may convince them to update the infotainment to R33 if you tell them of the Bluetooth issues and complain about lack of external temperature.

All other modules should be updated if you complain...

actually enabled OPD just now as I'm at 67% but to be honest it's ways to invasive. I'm kind of ok with either level 1 or Auto on the regen mode. ACC brings the car to a stop in traffic so which is how my Ioniq worked.

Just annoying it sets to 3 every time so need to remember to press the star on the wheel as I've setup that shortcut.

Called the garage and feel a bit fobbed off. They said the system had no pending updates for my reg but because it's a lease I need to request it through the lease company to be approved etc. Ill sort that Monday.
