Android Auto Voice Guidance Volume

Is there a way that we (owners) can find out which software version is in use on our car?

Only for the Infotainment ... it's in the System menu.

In my experience, voice guidance from Google maps on Android Auto can’t be heard at the same time as the radio on R13 infotainment version. The radio volume dips during a guidance but you still can’t hear the guidance instruction. It seems the sound from Google maps does not mix with the Infotainment screen radio sound. If you play some media from your phone, eg a podcast or a Spotify tune, before opening google maps you can then hear voice guidance but no radio. Apparently this R13 fault is fixed by a software upgrade to version R33 but it is not easy getting dealers to do the update.

I'm happy for the media volume to dip & I've got my podcast app setup to pause during voice guideance. That all works fine for me, just not independently controlling voice guideance volume. It's going in for a service soon so I'll get the dealer to apply the software upgrade

R13 refers to the infotainment software version and as MG don't do over the air (OTA) updates you'll have to take it to a dealer to get it updated.

In my ZS EV, guidance volume is independent of music/radio volume. If you change the volume while it's guiding, that will change the guidance volume, but you have to be lightning quick. There is a guidance volume setting in the Sat Nav menus.

It shows it's adjusting the VG volume but it actually doesn't. VG volume only changes when I change media volume

In theory we may get over the air (OTA) updates at some point - that's what the Update button refers to. At the moment it does nothing.

My car had its first service yesterday & the dealer did a software update & I can now change the voice guidance volume independently of media volume!

No, if anything it's worse. I forgot to switch it off yesterday & was in roadworks in lane 3 of the M1, with heavy traffic in all lanes & it was constantly pulling me towards the concrete barrier. Very scary & I was too busy hanging on to turn it off. The dealer told me that there's no update for LKA yet but did agree it was overreacting when they took it for a test drive.
