Cyberster - what we know so far

Generally a good review, but some of the "negatives" they quote are totally ludicrous. Must be a good sign though as hardly any real negatives at all.

"No option for a manual gearbox"

"GT may feel a bit too sure-footed for some"

"You’ll need to warn your passenger if you’re about to floor it"

"Britain’s best driving roads are far from rapid chargers"

What utter tosh!
Yes, surprised they didn't say: "Fuel filler nozzle too small" or "No turbo version available".

This is a pretty good review. Bit surprised there is no mention of a yoke steering wheel option, I thought that was going to be offered?

Whats this about juddering and shaking cameras. Is that just a hammered press car. Lol. Him hopping into the car was a bit silly when its not your car. 40 minutes charge time not amazing lol...good thing many people have a home charger or dont do too many road trips

Apple car play, wind deflector. Can see the Red exterior, Grey interior that I ordered, and I'm not over 5'10... All is good. Still bet that the car arrives when I head out on holiday at the end of August.

We can see the wind deflector at 16:20 in this one!
Hi, The wind deflector is substantially similar if not the same as the deflector for the BMW Z4. This should not be surprising as the entire convertible top and mechanism and hardware as well as the rollover hoops are sourced directly from BMW.

More reviews. Heated Steering wheel is included at least.

Car Wow

Lots of negative comments on This is money (Daily Mail). The usual anti chinese propaganda and people who arent capable of doing basic search on Google. Im sure it was the same when Japanese cars first arrived. I know there will be people trying to talk to you in traffic about the car. The same people on daily mail commenting misinformation and uneducated propaganda. The comments regarding MX5 proves people dont have a clue and like to compare apples and oranges. Tbf most of the people on there claiming they rather get an mx5 or aston Martin arent getting either. Its just hot air.

Many cars on Autotrader on there for months. I wonder why people are viewing these Boxsters, Z4, F types in the thousands but not buying. Could it be to do with running costs, reliability etc.

That’s exactly the reason why I’m here. If either manufacturer had announced an electric version of a DBS Volante or MX5, I’d be looking at that. But they didn’t.

Same with the discussion on financing & depreciation. Everyone's situation is different, what works for somebody, won't for another. No one is forced to buy these cars.

My learning point so far, I didn’t know that people commented on Daily Mail posts!

The DM does its best to bash EVs at every turn.

People aren't buying these Porsches, BMWs and Jags because the cheap finance they needed to pretend they could afford to buy one is no longer available.

Quite a few cycle through the classifieds because it only takes one big bill and they realise they can't afford to run one.

The Daily Fail fails, daily.

MG Thailand today announced their EVs sold in Thailand will now come with a LIFETIME warranty. (Search "MG Thailand lifetime warranty" for article in Bangkok Post) Covering the motors, controllers, and high voltage battery. This means the Cyberster which is targeted to deliver to me later this month will have this lifetime warranty. Cool.

I got the same information today and also that my car will be delivered end of the month.

@Miles Roberts CG, Has Chorley group sorted out any finance figures yet? I put in an order back in May, but I've not heard back from them. It seems that other dealerships have finance figures already.
