MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Thanks Bricktop. We're planning to head over to Wales after getting the car so hopefully a couple of hundred miles should arrive pretty quickly. Can't wait to use launch for the first time. My children have always enjoyed doing blast off in previous cars, I think this will be a new level for them though. ?

I will struggle to resist the temptation to do just that to be honest. I just want to make sure that I don't cause any damage in the process.

We've received an update today to say it should be delivered 3rd September. Looking forward to getting the car. One question that came to mind earlier though, is their a running in period for these like there would be for an ICE car?
The last brand-new car I had that needed running in was a 1996 Rover 200.
They said to keep it under 3000rpm when in 5th for the first 500 miles.
I worked out that was around 85mph, so ?‍♂️

You won't.
I mean have you ever seen running in instructions with your Nutribullet?

Nope me neither.

Straight to FULL POWER right out of the box! ?

On a serious note, there is a gearbox/geardrive element within the motor casing, so it will be good practice to take it steady for a couple of hundred miles I reckon.
Enjoy.

As in all ICE vehicles, the engines/motors will have been run at full power for some minutes to check the specified output is achieved. The break-in period will be for suspension/bushings/brakes etc.

Ordered black Xpower on 18/4/2024, delivered 27/6/2024.
Date of manufacture is 29/11/2023.
Came with R40 software. I was told this is the latest version. (I specifically asked).
No vibes or undertray bulge.

VERY VERY HAPPY - warp speed.
?
R46 is the latest software for the MG4 Trophy/XPower, if you tell the dealer youve had issues with the infotainment like freezing and Apple Carplay/Android Auto not always connecting, they should update it for you FOC

There are plenty of X Power’s ready for immediate delivery on great lease deals on Leaseloco.
I enquired last week and could have had an Orange one by end of this month but better half say NO at this time. ?
If she was onside i would have torn the lease agents arm off, i should have permission end of year/early next closer to our Model 3 lease end.?

Good Grief!

That is sooo cheap!

£10,369 to rent the car for 3 years, with a 5k miles restriction. Does that also include servicing, warranty maintenance, MG Assist and taxes? (e.g. VED)

I was looking at the 24 month deal, it was £7600 all in inc maintenance, that would have worked for me as could extend on if wanted or would buy the car if wanted it.

Known cost up front to try one, if i purchased one even with discounts doing the rounds i think it would depreciate more than £7600 in 2 years.
From previous experience including with the Tesla i have leased now it works out cheaper if you wait for the right deals.

The X power has been around £10,000 over 2 years lease for about the last 5 months on same configuration so significant drop at moment.

A Personal Lease usually includes everything (inc VED) apart from maintenance which is optional ?

Mileage can be agreed at the start if needed - 5000, 8000, 10000, 15000 are typical. You can go over the agreed limit but may have to pay something like 8p per mile over (or more depending on finance company).

My Xpower has already depreciated more than £10,000 in a year so I woud have jumped at this if available last year ?. I've been saved a little by my PCP final payment thankfully.

Where is the lease company making any money when a year old XPower is selling for under £24,000 that's a drop of £12,500 ish from new.

I think as a rule the leasing companies get them at a huge discount, it usually happens end of every quarter. The MG’s have been pretty highly priced, if you want some major deals look at the Corsa and Astra electric among others.

Example Astra deal same config as my MG one but £5900 over 2 years.
It would lose more than that the day you drove it off a forecourt.
