MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Where is the lease company making any money when a year old XPower is selling for under £24,000 that's a drop of £12,500 ish from new.

I can only think its surplus stock that MG need to get rid of (and get paid for). They can't really discount it too widely in the retail market as it would be too obvious, so "hide it" by selling hundreds to lease companies at huge discounts. Maybe a facelift MG4 is coming soon too.

As @Chrisdriving says, there are some mega cheap lease deals out there at the moment. The governments ZEV mandate is sure to keep these coming IMHO for many car makers.

"Manufacturers who fail to hit the ZEV mandate targets, or who can’t credit trade their way out of a shortfall, will face potentially heavy financial penalties for every non-compliant vehicle sold.

According to the DfT, the penalties will be set at £15,000 per vehicle for any non-ZEV cars sold outside manufacturer allowances"

Yes i think that is absolutely right, so yes i think if you are thinking about ordering one and want quick delivery and leasing can work for you as an option, now is a great time to consider it.

I just hope end of year is when i am allowed is better ?.

Fingers crossed. Just over a week to go for me until mine arrives. I can't wait. Just worked mine out and it's more or less the same as the deal posted with higher mileage and Insurance/maintenance included.

It's our first foray into EV driving, hoping it all goes well and we avoid some of the common issues detailed on this forum.

Only strange thing i have noticed is it is only £10 per month more for a factory order car, normally it is way more expensive with the deal on stock cars only.
That tells me MG need to shift some cars, i wonder if the facelift has any bearing on this?

Hi All

New to the forum because I ordered my Xpower on 5th August, delivery has been confirmed today as 4th September.

Ordered the inconspicuous racing green, it's on salary sacrifice so will only be able to add accessories.

This will be joining a ID4 in our family.

Charles, congrats on your new motor. You could add a few easily reversible mods. For example Black bonnet badge, Fangs. If that's your thing. ??

Thank you!

I've been reading the info on this site, there is a lot, do you have to change the badge or is it a covering for the existing one?

I started a while back on the threads and there where suggestions of removing the badge with fishing line and a hair dryer.

It's a covering for the existing badge, simple's. ??

Does it just clip over it then? I'll be doing this to ours. I also like the fangs so will probably get some of those as well at some point.
Sticks over, using double sided tape, just make sure you clean the badge with Meths, alcohol or similar. Same when fitting the Fangs. ??

This is correct, i have just been speaking to a broker who is handling some of these X Power lease deals, he is saying MG motors are giving 38% discount to the leasing companies for these cars, this is the highest he has seen, taking depreciation into account and their margin, that is why the X power deals are good.
They need to shift a lot of MY23 cars still.
Portbury dock in Bristol is full and more coming in a slow boat from you know where?.

I think new EV sales are struggling a bit for all brands, not just because it’s EV but with all thats going on i think people are being careful about spending, this is a great time if you are in the market for anything.

Ordered my XPower in Dynamic Red 3 days ago - expected mid September, date tbc.

Me thinks the next fortnight is going to be the longest ever! ?

Well there's plenty of catching up to be done on here (if that's your thing) and I imagine the 10K you have saved on your New X Power will soften the wait a little bit!

Mine has been delivered today. Really impressed with it so far. Come straight on a family holiday to Wales so it's getting a thorough workout. The laughs all round when I first put my foot down in sport are worth it alone.

I'll do a proper write up when I get a few minutes after the holiday. Only slight vibration at 65-70, nothing major. The black strip that runs across the dash looks dirty and as though it would wipe clean but it appears to be behind the lacquer. Strange. Anyway, we all love a photo don't we, so here we are.

You've come to Wales, I bet you're enjoying those launches, 0-20mph in 1.1 seconds ?
