MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Thanks for the reply. Towards the end the CTR's ride was becoming unacceptable! Was about 3 years old then but this is in part due to the dreadful and ever worsening state of our roads. The Audi S3 was better in this regard. I am pretty sure from memory the XP felt very similar to the S3 but always hard to tell. Firmish but supple/well damped.
Our local MG dealer does not have a XP to test drive now. Or the Extended Range. But we took out a normal MG4 LR Trophy which was fine. Both my sister and best mate both drive MG4s now after my recommendation! Apart from niggly software issues they love them and we have all been impressed by their efficiency when they visit from London/Essex to South Wales. So the MG4 LR would make a great choice as well but that lease company has even better deals on the XP. And it does tickle our fancy to think we can get that type of power in a relatively compact hatchback shape.
 
Here is my latest efficiency graph. So if I'm reading that right I'm currently averaging 5 miles/kWh ?

I can't figure out how to scroll through the screen behind the wheel. I assume there must be a way as there are up and down arrows but can't work out how to change it.
 
Press the centre right hand key to select available functions.
Looks like 2 pages.
Then use the joystick to toggle and change what you want.

A long press will reset the figures.

You know you're in that screen as the icon above the right side of the driver display will turn blue. That allows you to scroll left/right through the screens, and up/down through the options. Press the button again to come out of that screen (in which case the right joystick will revert to media control, or HVAC control if you have that selected).
 
The MG4 is a pretty efficient car. But 5mi/kWh would mean your range on a 100% charge would be about 310 miles. (62 kWh approximate useable battery). So possible but I suspect only if you were travelling at about 25mph for a few hours.
So may be not the most accurate screen. My sister has her dash drivers display set up to show average/trip efficiency.

I do not recall the ride being overly firm for our UK roads, but well judged overall. How is the car over speed bumps and broken tarmac? Did not take the test drive car in to any car parks etc with speed bumps. It is not too bone shaking I hope. My wife is seriously considering one and the lease deals on sites like leaseloco are very tempting at present. Her last ICE cars were a FN2 Civic Type R and an Audi S3. Currently been driving a Peugeot e-208 which we are both very happy with but almost 4 years old now.

The X power isn’t that efficient really in the sense it is efficient in eco mode but not in normal or sports mode but then the question is why buy the X power to drive it like a normal mg4 ??

Better to buy the mg4 long range version !

Best I’ve done is 250 km round trip in normal.

For what I want and need the X power works ..
I don’t drive long trips and charge it on the stock 1.4kW charger every second day over night ..

The last thing I bought my XPWR for was efficiency.

The first thing I bought my XPWR for was fun.

It delivers.

I do a 40 mile round trip twice a week as a rule, no range anxiety here.

I do a 500 mile round trip twice a year, easily done with one fast charge each way.

"Fun" drives out are less than 150 miles.

Perfect.

You cannot have your cake and eat it.

And verily I say unto thee, should your main consideration be the distance you might travel in an XPWR, then yee should most definitely consider a Long Range.

Here endeth the lesson.
 
Yep xpower is useless if your going to drive normal. Considering i rarely go beyond its range , if i do its a 10 min charge. That 10 mins to me over the years might be an hour of my time in exchange for something as quick as youll ever need and then some. The only other thing u might want an xpower for is AWD and higher ride height. I wanted all 3 :) rather slippery boggy driveway for a few kms. Snow mode is great.
