What you having for your Tea/Dinner, tonight. ?

This is the only one I have left. They are dated November 2026 and were £2.50 each after discount. The chicken was beautiful.
First time I’m down in Granton or through in Airdrie / Coatbridge areas I’ll be visiting on of their stores to pick up some more. View attachment 30509
Very handy even for emergency supplies or if, like me, one’s a cheapskate with an old car without the built in chef’s complete kitchen and one can’t boil the kettle at will - - just tear open the pack and eat it ? cold ??

I saw these too, and they were significantly cheaper, but it looked as if it was either heat them in a pan or eat cold. I wanted something hot that only needed a kettle. Given their availability I was thinking about getting one of these induction hobs.

Today I had lunch in a restaurant called Delilah's, right next to the Lochinver charger. Absolutely delicious steak frites done with a lot of garlic, interesting mixed fungi, and grated parmesan on the chips. I should have photographed it. I was so full I could barely manage a cup-a-soup and a roll with ox tongue for tea, here in the spot with the best view in the camp site.

Excellent it’s an induction cooker I have at home and love it.
I wanted an induction single hob for camp use but of course my old cheapo five has no three pin plug like these flashmobiles ? so I was trying to find an inverter to make it all function but wasn’t on the ball with that whole plan. So it was all down to a silly wee Primus gas burner.
My niece arrived from New Zealand this morning and we’ve been catching up and blethering all day so she likes the idea of a trip on the Glenelg ferry.
The next great day out commences tomorrow morning at 0800 hours when Magnette shall venture forth once more. The home charger is about to switch on with some cheap rate power which will get us through Glencoe to that much argued Garrison at Fort William and on past Spean Bridge. We’ll then turn over towards Cluannie Loch up to Shiel Brige. Turning left just beyond there will see us over Mamratagan and down to Glenelg for the ferry.
Fortuitously the weather ought to be reasonable over there so at least we might see some hills.

Sounds brilliant. I'm sitting on the CPS charger at Durness, only about 100 yards from the camp site, getting enough juice to get me to Teslaville Inverness. Weather has done a complete about face and I'm out of here before it actually rains.

forgot the matches for the stupid gas stove.
I used to do that all the time, so upgraded to the Halfords/Go Outdoors type stove with gas cartridges and push button ign.

Just noticed I duplicated the last picture in the string I added in #19. [ Moderator: deleted the duplicate photo. ]
I meant to add one showing my latest accessory purchase. It’s a temporary step to reach up onto a roof rack or box or no my case a roof tent. View attachment 30168
It’s fairly self explanatory but a really handy bit of kit I think
If I stood on it, I'd bend the B pillar!

I have just finished a load of batch cooking today.

Fish pie and beef stew for Mrs S and the lads.

Beetroot soup and carrot and coriander soup and rat(atouille) pour moi.

Used up loads of odds and ends in the fridge this way.

Does anyone else do EBIGO (Eat Before It Goes Off) cooking?

It’s some of the best cooking I do ?

Watching the world go by, with….
Rock Cod & Chips
Extra crumbed prawns (Aussie size)
Bring your own bread, cheese & sauce for an epic chip butty.
Washed down with chilled ?? beer ?

Had a fantastic fish and chip meal in Hokitika, NZ. Ribaldo and chips.

Ribaldo is similar to cod, I think. The only difference to our chippies was that the chips were frozen.

I guess fisherman in Oz land Ribaldo too.
There were a couple of others I tried, but I can't remember their names. I think one of them was called Billy...

Anyone fancy this for their dinner? Apparently it's called a Scottish Munchies takeaway box. ???

Absolutely fantastic. The Yorkshire pud looked a little well done but was actually really good sitting as it was in a lake of superb gravy which included wine in its constituent ingredients ??
