On the road charging

I just heard Just Get a Tesla refer to V4 chargers at Trentham, so you could well be right. I didn't notice any when I was there in August and the photo I took of Caliban charging only shows V3s, but I'll certainly take a look. That coffee shop is worth the 2-mile detour off the motorway.

When I was heading for Trentham in August I passed Keele services and thought, why not stop here, if there's a row of 300 kw Gridserves it would save a detour. I drove in and all I could see were the old Electric Highway units, so I drove out again without stopping. The really weird part was that there were cars on these chargers, and even people waiting. I mean, WHY?? They can't all have been waiting for the one CHAdeMO plug!

Quick question on Tesla app.

When you select a site, the app gives you the name etc AND the address. Next to the address is the mileage to it plus an arrow. If you press this it asks for which map app you want. I selected WAZE. Now I assume that it should put the address in waze but it just open the waze app and nothing more.

Is my assumption wrong and it just opens the app? Is there a way to disassociate the button from waze so I can try other apps? Also how the crickets do you contact Tesla app's help desk to ask these questions?

I've just tried mine and it opens Google maps with the location and route set and starts the navigation, so it might be a Waze thing? I haven't got Waze installed so I don't know.

That's why I wanted to disassociate it from waze but I cannot find how . I am very familiar with Android phones but was unsuccessful. Any help much appreciated

Might be a pain, but if you uninstalled waze 1st then tried again it might give option to select google maps etc

What if you start Android Auto, open GMaps and make a navigation route as a test. That may* set GMaps as your navigation app ... then you could try the Tesla app thing again.

* I have GMaps, Waze and AmiGO satnav apps on my phone ... if I use a voice command to my phone to navigate somewhere it defaults to use the last satnav app I used.

Have you tried clearing the cache from the Tesla app.

On an android phone: Settings, Apps, see all apps, Tesla app, Storage and cache, Clear cache.

Good idea Ian.

Unfortunately that did not work :(

I didn't do WAZE yet but I did delete the Tesla app and reinstalled it....did not work. I guess I have to delete waze

Out of interest, I installed Waze and when I asked for directions in the Tesla app it gave me the choice of Google maps or Waze. I chose Google (as that's what I usually use) but did not select the 'use every time' option. I then closed all apps and tried again and the Tesla app went straight to Google maps with no option to use Waze, so it seems to default to whatever I chose first even though I hadn't asked it to remember.
I too tried clearing the Tesla app cache and data but that made no odds, it still goes straight to Google maps.

Unfortunate does not work. If in android auto I go into Gmap and then on the phone I press the tesla directions, it kicks waze on my phone and the AA remains in GMAP with nothing showing

This is the only thing that worked. Thanks
