I'm not going to spam everyone with new threads so I'll just update this one a little.
OK so it wasn't the race against the sun but I did get out for a good day out in the TT today. I REALLY wanted to have a good drive about in the daylight and ENJOY it again now I've finally got it back.

This ended up being the route. The initial idea was to head over to Bakewell to The Wee Dram, a very nice whisky shop

But I added some extra points of interest from my childhood, I headed north toward Northwich and headed for Jodrell bank, got a lovely view of the Lovell telescope as it was canted over just right. Brought a tear to my eye, what a marvel of engineering and history.
Then off past the Cat and Fiddle which I now learned is a distillery, I'd tried Forrest gin before but I didn't know it was there. I want a distillery tour now
Onward to Buxton, last time I was there was on an SV ride out and we invaded the local chippy. I was sorely tempted today but had to resist as I'd already had a McDonalds breakfast and I had another treat in store at the next stop.
Bakewell obviously meant I should have a bakewell tart

(stop giggling, you're not in school still

)
I couldn't find a dog friendly cafe serving them and didn't fancy an actual pub so the doggo got secured back in his back seat hammock and I went off to grab a take out order.
From there down through Matlock Bath before it got dark. No time to stop though as I wanted to get to Trentham where I'd plotted I COULD use the tesla chargers if needs be but from the looks of it I shouldn't need to. This was still seeming true now I was most of the way around my lap.
Trentham was mega busy but I realised they had a Christmas "Makers Market" on today and tomorrow but sadly they were just packing up as I got there so nothing tempted me.
From Trentham it was an uneventful trip back over well travelled and boring roads but it was such a nice day. Just what I wanted from it (although I did come away from the Wee Dram empty handed in the end as I'm a tad overspent of late

)
TL;DR
Had a "big" drive around on a single charge, I was amazed how GOOD the cat and fiddle road was, such a pleasure to drive even the twisty bits that can be annoying in a car (faffing with gears and all that) On a bike that's part of the fun I know but somehow it always felt irksome in a car. Driving the overgrown scalextric was bliss. OPD as soon as I could enable it (charged to 100 this morning so it didn't let me enable till I got to 90)
Yes the range wasn't great but I wasn't sparing any horses when I wanted to use them and there was a fair bit of elevation gain and I kept the car toasty the whole time with AC. No hypermiling today. It was just indulgence and it was lovely.
Managed 160 miles at 3mi/kWh (it was mild but by no means warm) I was pleased enough with that.
£3.77 in electric, last week that would've been £28 in fuel in the courtesy car

No wonder I only put 13k miles on it
