No, not the stupid sports ball thing 🤪
I’ve had the call to go pick up the Turbo Tango 🥳

Just given the courtesy car a clean and hoover out so it looks like I’ve been looking after it 🤣

I still can’t believe it but the dent in my bank balance for the excess makes it a tad more real 🙄

Will update later and hopefully all is well and goes as expected. 🤞

OMG, I had to look at your previous posts to see what this was all about @Brettus, 10 months is a hell of a long time for a repair, and even worse when you're waiting to get it back. Here's hoping it's all done and like new. :giggle:

Back on the driveway.
Took a little figuring out in the dark swapping over from a Kia Ceed heh.
Most of the muscle memory came back and familiar settings that were needed.

SO nice to be back in an EV, wish I wasn’t working tomorrow though, I just wanna go drive for the sake of it 😂
I’ll plan a mini road trip for the weekend I think.
I also need to re do the badge on the front as the garage were scratching their heads trying to find where to get a blue one 🤪

Most importantly I’m getting it charged tonight so I can run my heating off of it tomorrow 🤓
I’ve missed that almost as much as driving it heh.

Have I missed any exciting developments during my absence? Is there a software update that fixes all the little niggles? 😬 Any threads I should seek out? I’ll have a browse of course but open to suggestions of note.

Good to have things back to normal!

Re exciting developments, I'm sure someone on here got a quick 0-60 time. Can't remember who, didn't find it that impressive myself.

Let us know road trip details...

Trying to talk myself out of a silly idea (I know this is the wrong subforum for voices of reason 🤪)

Most easterly in England to most westerly in Wales.

Hmm that sounds like a race…

Ah, maybe not in this EV.

Race the sun across the country
:D:cool:

I know you've been without the Xpower for a while, but I think you need to break yourself in gently, and anyway I don't think you need to be chasing the sun across the country mate, you know what a low lying sun can do. ;)

I'm not going to spam everyone with new threads so I'll just update this one a little.

OK so it wasn't the race against the sun but I did get out for a good day out in the TT today. I REALLY wanted to have a good drive about in the daylight and ENJOY it again now I've finally got it back.

This ended up being the route. The initial idea was to head over to Bakewell to The Wee Dram, a very nice whisky shop 🥃
But I added some extra points of interest from my childhood, I headed north toward Northwich and headed for Jodrell bank, got a lovely view of the Lovell telescope as it was canted over just right. Brought a tear to my eye, what a marvel of engineering and history.
Then off past the Cat and Fiddle which I now learned is a distillery, I'd tried Forrest gin before but I didn't know it was there. I want a distillery tour now :D

Onward to Buxton, last time I was there was on an SV ride out and we invaded the local chippy. I was sorely tempted today but had to resist as I'd already had a McDonalds breakfast and I had another treat in store at the next stop.

Bakewell obviously meant I should have a bakewell tart :) (stop giggling, you're not in school still 🤪)
I couldn't find a dog friendly cafe serving them and didn't fancy an actual pub so the doggo got secured back in his back seat hammock and I went off to grab a take out order. :)

From there down through Matlock Bath before it got dark. No time to stop though as I wanted to get to Trentham where I'd plotted I COULD use the tesla chargers if needs be but from the looks of it I shouldn't need to. This was still seeming true now I was most of the way around my lap.

Trentham was mega busy but I realised they had a Christmas "Makers Market" on today and tomorrow but sadly they were just packing up as I got there so nothing tempted me.

From Trentham it was an uneventful trip back over well travelled and boring roads but it was such a nice day. Just what I wanted from it (although I did come away from the Wee Dram empty handed in the end as I'm a tad overspent of late :D)

TL;DR
Had a "big" drive around on a single charge, I was amazed how GOOD the cat and fiddle road was, such a pleasure to drive even the twisty bits that can be annoying in a car (faffing with gears and all that) On a bike that's part of the fun I know but somehow it always felt irksome in a car. Driving the overgrown scalextric was bliss. OPD as soon as I could enable it (charged to 100 this morning so it didn't let me enable till I got to 90)

Yes the range wasn't great but I wasn't sparing any horses when I wanted to use them and there was a fair bit of elevation gain and I kept the car toasty the whole time with AC. No hypermiling today. It was just indulgence and it was lovely.
Managed 160 miles at 3mi/kWh (it was mild but by no means warm) I was pleased enough with that.
£3.77 in electric, last week that would've been £28 in fuel in the courtesy car 🤯
No wonder I only put 13k miles on it :ROFLMAO:

I pulled into Trentham too this evening at 5:15pm and it was mental. Crazy busy for the Christmas light walks. Tried 7 of the newer Tesla chargers and they were all out of order. Used the older ones and luckily they worked and I got from 25% to 75% which was enough to get me home comfortably.

Thought I'd have a bit of fun as my barrier, and the barrier next to me, at the M6 toll booth went up at exactly the same time.... But the tycan in it didn't fancy it, so I blew 2% for nothing lol

We likely overlapped, 16:50 till 17:30 my photo timestamps say.

I should run a mini competition, spot the TT in the wild and win an underwhelming prize or just internet points 😊

Glad I wasn’t needing the charger then, sounds a hassle. Glad you got what you needed though.
That 2% sounds well spent, it’s for you to enjoy 😊

You've just upset the residents of Bakewell. It's a Bakewell Pudding not tart. A Bakewell tart is an over sweet cake in a foil case made by Mr Kipling. A Bakewell Pudding is a piece of culinary excellence.

This is the Bakewell Pudding

Excellent! That sounded like a great drive.
It's great just going for a drive.
Just, because you can. 🙂👍
