MG5 - future enhancements

I think there is a overspeed alert and cruise control, but not strictly a speed limiter…
have you tried it? when I did as soon as I hit the set speed it told me to brake and actively stopped me increasing my speed when using my accelerator normally ( not flooring it )

Re the frunk (froot?).
If you are careful, a Type 2 cable and a hiviz jacket do fit without modification.
A redesign of the cover would offer even more space, mebbe for the granny charger and a suitable 13A extension lead.
I feel a bit of a grp project coming on.....
One could also take the opportunity to fit a 12V battery isolator for those occasions when the car needs a service supply interrupt/reboot.

Infotainment;

Generally, making it less glacial would be nice.

Does anyone know what the Operating System is? It'd be nice to have Android and the ability to install particular apps - like Navmii with its perpetual free map upgrades

A few gig of built in memory for ones music would be welcome.

Phone section could do with reporting connected network ID, signal strength and phone battery SOC. Had all that in the Passat and it was quite useful.

General

"Charging door not closed" warning.

USB 5V outlet on the windscreen module for dashcam power.

Properly folding back seats

Frunk (froot?) liner with storage for Type 2 cable, granny lead.

12V battery isolator for reboots

Sunglasses holder

Full LED headlights, stop, tail and indicators.

Bigger battery.

90kW or higher charging support, 350kW ideal

12V outlet in the boot for coolbox etc

Cool air bleed into glovebox from a/c (keeps choccies crisp for a long journey. Had it in the Passat and nice it was)

Full size spare..

Removable accessory head restraint covers.

The operating system is Linux. It's looks like MG bought a development kit for the infotainment computer and cobbled a system together. That's probably why it's not very snappy.

All of the above would be good and:

I'd like a bunch of extra presets.

Preset the starting Entertainment System Volume (a feature I've had in all my cars as long as I can remember)
Preset driving mode and regen.
Android Auto/Car Play Wireless

I'd also like a charging limit option.

Linux ?
It must be a raspberry PI in a big box then. :D

No, by the looks of the CPU etc, it's an automotive grade kit they cobbled together. A raspberry pi 4 would be quicker...
