MG4 Software Update Thread

Just for clarity, unlike the HVAC pull down menu there is no apparant pull down for the new short cut menu, you just pull down in the blank space adjacent (left or right depending on country) to the HVAC menu.

Curiously the lady dealing with the paperwork said when they hooked it up to the computer they found a strange or weird (can't remember the word she used now) software version was installed which they hadn't seen before so have reported it to MG and will get back to me if anything else needs doing. Not heard anyone else mention this before, the only thing I've done is apply the maps update by USB, but the system flagged something amiss

So I had a call from the dealer that did my service saying they'd had word from MG now that I need to take it back in for a software update - they couldn't tell me exactly what would be updated, only FICM needs updating, but they updated that from R46 to R59 at the service and I'm pretty sure they also updated some other modules as ACC seemed better, and most of the issues I raised were resolved apart from BT pairing. Maybe they'll take it to R63

Mine hadn't connected via Bluetooth for several weeks with pairing requests frequently (I had given up)
After updating TBOX my phone connected without doing anything and has been ok since

Hello.
Tbox:
S.O.C.
SNAKP23E32
MCU:
SNMKP23E32
Are both updated by simply loading the corresponding TBOX file onto a USB and connecting it to the vehicle's USB and loading it?
MCU using SIPS

Has anyone managed to pursuade a dealer to update their TBOX under warranty?

Dealers have to quote an acknowledged issue to MG in order to get paid for warranty work, so I would be interested to know what fault I should report to get it done.

I've had everything else updated under warranty but Bluetooth is still a nightmare.

TBOX MPU from USB and TBOX MCU from SIPS
Took me 10min for both of them

Obviously jinxed it, just got in & had a pairing request, so the dealership was right, still no fix for the Bluetooth as everything is the latest bar the drivers seat, I hope that has nothing to do with Bluetooth 🤣

Changed my XPower tyres to all season ones when new and ensured the garage kept each wheel in its original position to avoid a problem with the TPMS. The manual advises to regularly rotate the tyres for even wear whilst also noting that moving position requires recoding of the sensors by MG. The manual for the 5 also says to rotate but, that after doing so, driving above 40kph for 10 mins will reset sensor readings to their corresponding positions.

I guess the MG5 uses the old VAG method of tyre pressure monitoring which automatically adjusts for wheel rotation, whereas the MG4 has powered sensors inside the wheels that are hard-coded to each corner.
