Hi everyone,

I recently got my MG Cyberster in Singapore and noticed that the inbuilt GPS system isn’t available here in Asia for Singapore. I’d really like to get the factory GPS functionality working, or at least a reliable workaround for navigation.

Has anyone successfully installed or activated the inbuilt GPS for the Cyberster in Singapore? If so, where did you get it done, and what was the process like?

Alternatively, are there any recommended workshops or specialists in Singapore that can retrofit or integrate an OEM-style GPS system into the car?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Contact SAIC directly Id say. Maybe they can get an update out for your market. I cant envisage too many people buying the car in Singapore. That being said keep searching, many established techies around who could probably work some magic

With inbuilt GPS do you mean the onboard navigation? Is there no onboard navigation in Singapore?
Here in Thailand it is installed and works o.k., although I use Android Auto with Google maps most of the time.
However, I am curious because of a special reason. In my MX5 (2016) I hacked the system and installed Android Auto, but in my first hacks the gps of the phone was used which drained the battery of the phone faster than I could charge. In my later versions my AA is using the cars GPS now. Battery is fine now but the GPS is not as precise as on the Phone though.
In my Cyberster the phone is charing more than AA is consuming, so I guess it is using the cars GPS.
I believe there is a GPS in the car due to the above mentioned reason and for the ismart APP. How could it show the position of the car if you do not have a GPS on board?
Can you locate your car in the MG ismart App?

I Cant it shows unable to locate.
I was told there is no gps in singapore version and the people here are stupid
Cause mg sales people got no experience with this car.

So i guess i have to "hack" the system to download the map and also it shows digital key here but cannot activate.
