MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Spoke to my local dealer and they're still expecting stock in July.
Wishful thinking but it's always possible Vanarama are giving a longer lead time to stop having to keep pushing the dates back and can turn round and look good by saying they got it quicker than promised?

Hmm, I cancelled my ZS long range Trophy Connect order, after 4 months.

As others have said, zero communications from the dealer during that time (I rang and was informed it would be at least a further 2-3 months - I am quite disappointed but angry that they didn't let me know.) So, I have just bought a 2021 ex-demonstrator MG HS PHEV; the Exclusive has a much higher spec, btw: leather seats, motorised boot, ambient interior lighting and more - plus a lower price for a car with 300 miles on the clock (£28k).

For my local travel (<30 miles per trip) the HS PHEV should achieve my desire to drive full EV (using a 7kW home charger box) which I didn't investigate when ordering the long range ZS originally. So far, so good - I'm loving the HS PHEV drive + no range anxiety. Happy days.
It has MG pilot, does it have Blind Spot Monitoring? Can't find anywhere on Autotrader if this is in the spec.

I just think that Vanarama recognise the fact that dealers will prioritise their own customers first, before selling to a third party.

Yes it has BSD.

Spoke to my dealer last week to get an update - the system was now telling them June (it was originally March 28th, then May 6th)

I did ask "June-the-what?" - he said the system just said June. He seemed confident about the date, but who knows?! Will believe it when I see it.

Blue Trophy LR - Ordered 4th Dec - Baylis MG Gloucester.

Had my call from Vanarama advising sept. They seemed reasonably pragmatic. Happy to explore alternatives and can cancel if I want. Said it’s still provisional and not certain but giving their best estimate as advised by MG. Quite open that it’s a guesstimate.

Reality is, no other manufacturer is really in a better place. Friends who have ordered VAG have also found numerous delays despite (I assume) their cars being built to order.

I expect to stick with the ZSEV unless the MG5 facelift or MG4 suddenly make a quick appearance…

I would have looked at the MG5 if we'd have the facelift model available to order, just didn't want to order the outgoing model.. the MG4 looks interesting too so I'm also in the same position in regard to swapping with one of the ZS' we've ordered.

We're waiting for a Red & Blue ZS EV LR Trophy Connect. Depends whether they'll be able to produce the MG4 quicker, if and when/how quickly they add it to the affinity scheme and if it has a similar range as I need 200+ for comfortable driving without a ReX.

In reality I think the MG4 won't be here until June next year and the ZS' may arrive closer to September, within a month of September I'd be waiting for the new plate! We were advised by the dealer and it shows on the order forms 1st June and 30th June for ours but am aware it's all a guess right now.

I was wondering this too and it was the one question I didn’t ask them - Could it be earlier than September?
Only good thing is, you can cancel at any point. So if you see stock elsewhere or a better deal on something else comes up, just bin them. (assuming you haven’t had the charge-point fitted)

Just checked in, same dealer, same car/colour. Ordered Jan 6th, given beginning of July.

As a Plan B move I went onto a Nissan dealer and enquired about a new LR Leaf - Sales Manager quoted me September (hopefully) !

Found this post so had to register to get my thoughts in. I ordered a Trophy LR from Vanarama at the beginning of Feb. Originally told mid April, I got the call on Friday saying September.

Either specifically the Vanarama order has been delayed until September as Mikey (and others) who ordered from an MG dealer, have been told dates before September.

Or more likely IMHO; Vanarama are telling everyone September as a blanket stance and a lot of you who ordered will get yours before September. Tis a shame MG / dealerships / leasing companies can't be more accurate. Very worried that further chip shortages caused by current events will put later orders into 2023 though...

BUT, if you don't get the free charge point fitted before the Government grant expires at the end of this month won't you have to bridge the £350 difference?

With that lovely RapidGate “feature” due to lack of battery thermal management.

Yep, that’s the downside. Not ideal but should still be cheaper than forking out to have one fitted yourself? And it does look like a decent charger.

Mine is getting installed on 31st March. I've accepted the wait until September. If however it get's continually delayed, there must come a point where as it's not really us breaking the contract and therefore surely we won't have to pay for the charge point.

Heard from my dealer over the weekend yet another push back to May/ June.
This is from October 21, I am getting very cynical about the situation now, is it a ploy by dealers to get people to cancel orders that have been good deals at the time, so they can up the price and interest rates why the get the stock
