Do Vanarama only use Greenhous for their orders? Just wondering if that’s who mine was ordered through.I got my MG order number from Greenhous
Pretty certain that's the dealer Vanarama told me a few months ago so looks consistentDo Vanarama only use Greenhous for their orders? Just wondering if that’s who mine was ordered through.
Follow your logic, but having seen how MG operate… do you trust them not to turn around and say “hey, you’ve been waiting 9m for your Trophy, it’s here but minus the sunroof. Take it or you can have your deposit back”?As for people asking about the sunroof issue, can’t really see how MG can sell you a car you didn’t order, it would be like your dealership ringing to say your car is here and you turn up to collect it and it’s an MG5…when you ordered a ZS EV…they must satisfy all outstanding orders before they change to the non-sunroof cars..I still think there making a big mistake stopping the sunroof, it was one of the reasons I went for the ZS EV…can’t see me buying another MG going forward..

Believe me I am fed up waiting. Ordered my car LR Trophy in Blue 5th Jan with a May delivery. That's telling us nothing about the order.
I ordered an SR in January for example, and if someone is getting an SR they ordered in March now, that suggests it is way more disordered.
Same with usWell I haven’t got mine and when I popped into the dealership, it wasn’t even showed as built and I ordered it way back in December (17th) so still think it’s a hit and miss…ZS EV LR. Trophy..
Didn’t you just say in your previous post there was an MG plan to supply cars in order? ??Believe me I am fed up waiting. Ordered my car LR Trophy in Blue 5th Jan with a May delivery.
Lots of people have had delivery who ordered after me. MgMackay enquired about a LR car a few weeks ago and collected it 2 days later from Cars2 - no queue at all. However in my case there are 6 people who ordered before me that have been told they are getting delivery this week - I am happy for them. They should get their cars before me.
Now you ordered a SR in January and a few weeks ago one dealer got 60 SR cars for stock - all models in various colours but mainly Trophy’s from memory. I would be very unhappy with this. Your dealer should be jumping up and down on the MG UK area manager. The person who is getting the SR delivered from a March order May have a different spec? However, if you ordered a SR in January you should have a car by now - something has gone wrong somewhere?
Nothing adds up - TBA cars just turn up at dealers. We have some dealers that are advising September deliveries (3 months) - we know a car can be manufactured and delivered in 10 weeks so these cars may not have hit the production line yet. How do they know that their model is going to be made on the production line - we are told the SAIC will run a production line for cars they have parts for? Nobody knows what models they will manufacture. Doesn’t make any sense again.
There was a story that they make different cars on different days on the production line. That is a surprise - every production line I have seen has bespoke machinery to manufacture different types of cars. Every night the magic fairies must go in the factory and swap over all the tooling and commission for the next day to start manufacture. Again nothing makes sense.
We just have to be positive and hope our car arrives soon - we do have an alternative to tell them enough is enough. I am slowly swaying towards the latter - especially after a previous post suggested that if they were struggling to get parts to the production line - what chance have we got to get spares for the cars say if the battery or motor becomes faulty?
Any ships due in Portbury on those dates won't have been to China to pick the cars up yet.Can anyone let me know which ships might be on their way to Portbury from Shanghai to arrive late August/early September please?
I had the exact same response, mentioned it earlier in the threadOrdered MG ZS EV LR Silver through Vanarama (Greenhous Fleet are the dealer) on November 19th.
Dissapointed to find out from MG that the order wasn't received by them until January 26th!
I've reached out to both Vanarama and Greenhous for answers...
I ordered from them in November, but other than Vanarama touching base still no idea when the car will arrive. I contacted the dealership Vanarama have used (Greenhous Shrewsbury) but they weren't very helpful and said it could be next year. I asked for the 10 digit number for my order so that I could contact MG direct. Just had an email back from MG saying the order was placed Jan, and the standard reply others have reported. Phoned dealership today but salesman dealing with this was not available so have emailed to clarify when my order was placed. Will wait to hear back from them. MG and there dealership network appear second rate. Very surprised at Greenhous because that (from internet browsing) does appear to arrange a lot of fleet sales business. Will let you know what they come back with.
I feel your frustration, although mine is not with the wait, just the handling of it all. Hopefully the joy of the new car finally getting here will erase all that...that's what I'm telling myself at least, and hoping to see mine arrive in September on a new plateBelieve me I am fed up waiting. Thanks for your observations on the 35d window. From the few ships we've been following on here, it did seem the time at sea wasn't overly long, but my dealer believes it'll take 2 months journey time from China.Any ships due in Portbury on those dates won't have been to China to pick the cars up yet.
From what I can tell, it's around a 35d window - so any ships leaving Shanghai now, will be here in 35-ish days. For any cars arriving here in late August, you'll need to look 35d before then - so mid-late July.
The ships are only in Shanghai for 12-30hrs.
Once it arrives in Portbury, that's where it seems to be slow from what I can gather. Mind you, if you can only carry 9 cars at a time on a transporter around the country, that's understandable I guess. Thanks for your observations on the 35d window. Yes, and this week 8 people plus another 1 yesterday all ordered before me have been given some good news with regards delivery of their LR car. 7 of these collect within a week. MG true to their claim are starting to reduce their order backlog - dealing with the orders from last year first. Delivery news for LR is much improved from a few weeks ago where cars were appearing for stock.Didn’t you just say in your previous post there was an MG plan to supply cars in order? ??
We have ordered via Motability. Options for us are reduced. If we cancel the order we can only select off the current list which only has 66 electric car models to choose from. The current list does not have any decent longer range alternatives. Motability have advised that the list is to be refreshed on 1st July - see what happens then?I feel your frustration, although mine is not with the wait, just the handling of it all. Your concern about spares is something I've considered myself. Is it not worth your while to take the delivery of the car still, and then if the shiny new feeling isn't enough & you're stilly really fed up with MG, you can likely sell for more than you paid (presuming it's not on lease ect).
When did you order?Just got my 2 weeks updates.
