Real World X Power mi/kWh Thread.

To be fair you can enjoy the car without having to hoon it all the time.
I enjoy driving mine regardless and chose the X Power for many reasons apart from power.
You see thousands of high powered cars around, most Tesla’s i see drive very moderately, indeed each to their own but main thing is to enjoy.

I’m always at 21-27kWh/100km because I didn t buy the X power for economy I brought it for speed and handling..

Plus I always drive in sport mode !!

When the X power gives me 400kW and 1000km range I’ll be happier but for now I’ll stick to my bad range ..

That said to be honest it does what I want without me ever worrying will I get home👍

No you must hoon in the X power 🤣🤣

MG gods will take the car off you because you are not using the car for it’s intended purpose !!!🤣🤣

Agreed.
But the X Power has a built in "Beanage" limiter anyway.

I.E. The decreasing battery percentage!

The most fun is always after a fresh charge for me.
That's when the maximum potential is to be found.

But of the course, the car can still be plenty of fun going down the battery percentage.

But full bore encounters should be avoided to avoid embarrassment. 🤣

I tend to drive very conservatively a lot of the time, but leaving the lights first never gets boring, even if it's 0-30, I still love it. Sundays I do a 30 mile round trip to a hobby and give it a good run then, cleans up the brakes nicely too.

I don't charge at home, so spirited drives cost me a bit more.

Fair enough, Chris. Each to their own.
But my right foot, is pretty much in "hoon"
mode most of the time, can't help it. Except of course, when in busy traffic. 😉
🙂👍

2.7mls/kWh for me yesterday driving 100 miles down the A1 from Newcastle to Leeds. Did'nt hold back at all, especially overtaking lane hoggers when they eventually pulled over 😡😂

Topped the battery up at home last night at 8.5p per kWh so peanuts really for the fun and performance on tap.

Think I'm averaging about 3.2 in urban driving, lots of roundabouts and max regen. I anticipate every stop and avoid the brakes other than to keep the rust off them. I can see peaks above 4miles/kWh but that's probably trickling through town at 10mph.

I've been driving on regen 1 for the last couple of weeks, and I don't know if it's just the hills around here, but I think it's delivering better mpkw than regen 3. I come off the throttle about 0.5mi from home and it's all down hill and I can get all the way home with -power.

Indeed ‘coasting’ is most effective on a long downhill , regen just scrubs speed off requiring more power application.
Makes sense. I have a large hill I make the benefit of but at roundabouts where a hard stop is usually needed I wonder is regen 3 better. It is a tad aggressive though

It's just a matter of finely controlling your right foot, but the higher the regen number the harder it is to keep the regen low, just a matter of practice, saves you changing things all the time.
My problem is swapping from an ICE car back to the MG, (which I keepi n OPD), getting used to that fine control again takes a couple of blocks.

I noticed this for the first time yesterday. power was limited to 70% when at about 40% battery and that went down further once I was under 10%.

40% seems high. To start limiting the power. Never noticed that meself.
Have noticed it below 20%.
I usually work on the rule, don't try to take on something that's particularly handy, below 30%. To be fair though it would still see off most motors, even at 20%. 🙂👍

I thought so as well, but it's still around 300 bhp at 70% power. I wonder if the engine mode might have affected it as I was in ECO as it was a game of can I get home without needing a charge.

Yeah Margaret does seem to feel extra sportier after a 97% charge..

Anything under 10% that’s almost get out and push feeling!!

I usually use Margaret between 100% 97% to 40%to 60%

I don’t often let her get below 40% before a recharge.

By default eco mode kicks in at 10%
