Now it seems rapid acceleration isn't bad for the battery, I may be tempted to let my hair down a bit more.

No you must hoon in the X powerTo be fair you can enjoy the car without having to hoon it all the time.
I enjoy driving mine regardless and chose the X Power for many reasons apart from power.
You see thousands of high powered cars around, most Tesla’s i see drive very moderately, indeed each to their own but main thing is to enjoy.

I've been driving on regen 1 for the last couple of weeks, and I don't know if it's just the hills around here, but I think it's delivering better mpkw than regen 3. I come off the throttle about 0.5mi from home and it's all down hill and I can get all the way home with -power.Think I'm averaging about 3.2 in urban driving, lots of roundabouts and max regen. I anticipate every stop and avoid the brakes other than to keep the rust off them. I can see peaks above 4miles/kw but that's probably trickling through town at 10mph
Makes sense. I have a large hill I make the benefit of but at roundabouts where a hard stop is usually needed I wonder is regen 3 better. It is a tad aggressive thoughIndeed ‘coasting’ is most effective on a long downhill , regen just scrubs speed off requiring more power application.
I noticed this for the first time yesterday. power was limited to 70% when at about 40% battery and that went down further once I was under 10%.Agreed.
But the X Power has a built in "Beanage" limiter anyway.
I.E. The decreasing battery percentage!
The most fun is always after a fresh charge for me.
That's when the maximum potential is to be found.
But of the course, the car can still be plenty of fun going down the battery percentage.
But full bore encounters should be avoided to avoid embarrassment.![]()
40% seems high. To start limiting the power. Never noticed that meself.I noticed this for the first time yesterday. power was limited to 70% when at about 40% battery and that went down further once I was under 10%.
By default eco mode kicks in at 10%I thought so as well, but it's still around 300 bhp at 70% power. I wonder if the engine mode might have affected it as I was in ECO as it was a game of can I get home without needing a charge.
