There's recommendations on here somewhere for replacing them with different battery tech ( can't remember the type) as they're not required to crank ice motors. There's something far more reliable that lasts longer.... I'll see if I can find the reference...

Thanks Aaron, will do. Bought one of those neat little 12v battery back-up things, just in case. Seems a worthwhile investment considering the potential problems 12v battery can give rise to. And there was 10 months between car manufacture and me taking delivery as "new". Who knows what problems...

Yes, thanks for that. I am aware of the need for patience and always take my time letting it power up and initialise in order to then set my preferred settings ( every.damn.time.!!) and since the messages, even more so. I'm thinking I've seen a reset of the infotainment system referred to...

Hi Ralph. I have all ( most?) of the networks I'm likely to use apps on my phone. As I'm now preferring Tesla I'm using theirs. Anything else (i.e no tesla ) and I'll use zapmap then double check on the suppliers app the night before, and maybe at the previous charger before setting off...

Ironically I drive a slow diesel minibus daily for a living. Such a joy to get back into the MG. Only drive it 2-3 times a week and not very far at that, but always finish with a smile, even after 5 months of ownership - extended honeymoon ??

I find that now with the MG4 SE, As I did with the Kia Soul EV I had. Look in the mirror and wonder why no-one else has moved ( and no, it's not because I imagined the light change). aaand I wasn't even trying. Took some getting used to, that one. ?

My bulge turned up ( or down) within 150 miles after arriving without, so keep an eye on it. Now at 2k and it hasn't got any worse. Registered it with the dealer who have acknowledged it and recorded it but aren't interested in doing anything about it so far.

I was planning to do this but didn't due to cost. Here I am 5 months down the line of ownership and actually prefer the look of them without now ( especially mine ?? ) - $500 better off !

I worried about this with my kia soul ev and the mg4 - rather than just scratching the undercarriage I could be totalling £20k+ of battery and writing the car off effectively. I changed my driving style and rather than aiming to get a wheel either side of the speed bump I now try to get nearside...

...and the car battery of course ?. Didn't use it in our recent 24hr power cut because MrsM enjoys playing with camping gear and candles, but I was sorely tempted. Maybe next time ?
