We had a problem with the ones at Chatelherault Country Park but the helpline answered promptly and sorted the issue. We used the Charge Your Car app to activate the charge and occasionally we did have to look for the charger ID on the unit which was generally written in marker pen somewhere
Update.
Success!
I abandoned ABRP from the very beginning, I am sure it tries to make more efficient use of your time but I couldn't see the point in stopping for 18 minutes (just as an example) to charge a small amount then stop again later.
The journey was calculated at 366 miles so we...
I just did a trip up there and used the Charge Your Car app (android). Mainly around Lanarkshire and all the chargers I used were free. Fast and Rapid were a simple find the charger on the app, start charge, and go for a wander.
I am in great danger now of overthinking this. Tweaking ABRP ended up with it adding a 5th stop, the first one being in Gloucester less than an hour after we set off.
Back of an envelope calculations: If I estimate miles/kWh as 3.2 (as suggested by @WAC 768) and journey as 380 miles, then a...
Thanks for the tip, I hadn't noticed that
I did see that you could enter your own figure but as I hadn't any idea what wh/m should be I just left it alone.
Now another setting can be fine tuned
Well it looks like Ionity should be avoided for the time being, especially on our first long outing. Thanks for the heads up on the problems
I have always been perfectly happy with the cruise at 60/65 and continually get ribbed by the children and grandchildren for always being the last to...
Thanks for the vote of confidence.
As you mentioned I was trying to be very conservative with the calculations/settings so it would be as relaxed as possible
I hope Shap and Beattock summits don't kill the range though, there are long drags uphill to both of those and as it will be motorway...
I have the website book marked which allows you to confirm the charger on free chargers but will probably add yet another app <sigh> to my phone ?
As I have not been home for so long I may not want to do the return journey
According to the Chargeplace website there are 14 7kw free chargers in Duke St car park which is a 10 minute walk from our destination. That'll do nicely
On Thursday we will be undertaking our 1st multicharge journey from South west England to Central Scotland.
I have planned it on A Better Route Planner and it indicates we will require 4 short(ish) stops. These stops are not adding too much time to the overall journey time as we would normally...
Sorry to hear of your troubles, a similar thing happened to ours a couple of months ago.
The offside front wing and bumper corner were painted and colour matched by an approved MG body shop. They did not remove the bumper as they did not have the necessary equipment to set up and recalibrate...
My wife replaced her diesel Skoda Yeti 4x4 with the ZS and I am so close to pulling the trigger on replacing my LR Disco Sport with a Skoda Enyaq (just researching the best deal)
We live at the top of a steep hill which gets littered with abandoned cars at the slightest drop of snow so we will...
I am surprised that food outlets such as KFC, McDonalds etc haven't implemented this yet, drive through, charge for 30 minutes (possibly included in slight cost increase), journey onwards
