Does anybody recognize this one? (MG Clive's MG4)

No the problem seems to vary in intensity from car to car (so the assumption is variable tolerances on the parts causing the issue). I have driven one with zero vibrations but it seems a majority of them have if built between summer 23 & Dec 23, hence test drive essential.

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

So it gets better. I replied to the e-mail I received politely, explaining that the vibration that was not present when there when 'high power was demanded' but at a steady state when in the 65 to 75mph window and that I had owned several high powered petrol engine cars, none of which had a...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Yep - it was from Gary Smart and I pointed out this very same thing on my reply, concluding he was treating me, as the customer, with complete contempt. I did receive a reply which largely ignored the points I made.

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Does seem to be the new standard message from MG UK at least. Smacks of complete desperation - I assume they have now run out of pages in their book of excuses so are now relying on someone in their PR department with zero technical knowledge or real world experience to write their responses...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

So I e-mailed MG UK customer service team yesterday to ask directly what they were planning to address the vibration 'characteristic' given the steering damper was ineffective (in my case anyway, same experience for everyone else I have heard of). Got the following response:- Thank you for your...

Crikey. You should have printed out the widely leaked MG technical bulletin which acknowledges the issue and lists what the dealers should do try to resolve it (although the very expensive final fix has been withdrawn because 'it is ineffective' - nothing to do with the cost)

Same here - consistently repeatable irrespective of mode

Promising to hear and hopefully great news for your incoming car but even more galling that many of us earlier customers have to put up with this clearly fixable (at a price) vibration problem :(

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

It's definitely variable from car to car (or certainly was, if they have now fixed it). I had half a day driving a demo in February that was registered in Sept 23 and that had absolutely no vibrations. I wandered what all the fuss was about so on the back of this ordered ours.......

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

I noticed on ours the first time we went over 66mph but then I was aware of the issue from all the helpful posts on this forum so was on the 'look out'. However it was pretty unmistakable straight away but then I am quite sensitive to steering feel/feedback.

Then it's a leap of faith somewhat. Supposedly cars manufactured after December 2023 are meant to have been fixed (check the manufacture date on the Certificate of Conformity). Check dealer is aware of the issue and make it clear the car will be rejected if present is the best you can do.

Personally I have no confidence it has been fixed although it was supposed to have been so the only way to check for sure is to drive the actual car you are planning to purchase at the know issue speeds before parting with any cash.

    Revised/upgraded X Power

Yeah it does. Would be nice as option for those who want it for sure. We had this as an option when we spec'ed our MK8 Fiesta ST but instead picked the performance pack to get the LSD which transforms the car when 'pushing on'. Also having been a passenger in a car that has rolled previously...

    Revised/upgraded X Power

Each to his own I guess. The chassis is fine up until 7/10ths but push harder than this and it unravels fast - I just feel that if being marketed as a performance car, it should be the whole package in terms of all dynamics rather than just straight line speed. Agree the cabin is drab and could...

    Revised/upgraded X Power

With list price already ~£37k, it doesn't leave much head room. Personally I would have liked to see it more performance orientated, particularly in the chassis department so that the handling was more involving to match the performance. That and more sporty seats. The other bits mentioned...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Yes the Renault 5 that the Alpine a290 is based on has V2L so I’m sure it will. Given the initial road tests, if this had been available for sub £40k when we were looking at the x-power, we would have the Alpine on the drive. Yes it’s substantially slower but sounds like one of the first EVs...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Good to see consistency from MG UK in that they continue to treat customers with utter contempt and with an underlying assumption that we aren't a very bright bunch. I'd completely forgotten about the vibrations I've experienced in many highly powered vehicles that I've previously owned - my...

Yes please - If the steering damper doesn't work for you (it didn't for me and everyone else that has contributed that has had it fitted AFAIK), what are MG / SAIC planning to do next for long suffering customers?
