efficiency
Efficiency is the often measurable ability to avoid wasting materials, energy, efforts, money, and time while performing a task. In a more general sense, it is the ability to do things well, successfully, and without waste. In more mathematical or scientific terms, it signifies the level of performance that uses the least amount of inputs to achieve the highest amount of output. It often specifically comprises the capability of a specific application of effort to produce a specific outcome with a minimum amount or quantity of waste, expense, or unnecessary effort. Efficiency refers to very different inputs and outputs in different fields and industries. In 2019, the European Commission said: "Resource efficiency means using the Earth's limited resources in a sustainable manner while minimising impacts on the environment. It allows us to create more with less and to deliver greater value with less input."Writer Deborah Stone notes that efficiency is "not a goal in itself. It is not something we want for its own sake, but rather because it helps us attain more of the things we value."
I took delivery of a new MG3 Hybrid Trophy in Battersea blue on Friday last week 3rd May.
This is my daily runabout and replaced a 3dr DS3 which I had from new for just over six years.
I have to say how impressed I am with the car, particularly from the value for money perspective. Compared to a...
HI,
I'm a new PHEV owner.
Did a mixed drive (town traffic/highway) on pure EV mode and the MPG just kept going up and up and up!
Ended up on 562 MPG - it refused to go higher so maybe that's the upper limit on the counter.
Either that or the car is faulty :)
Has anyone ever hit these levels?
SE LR not achieving range I'd expect.
Charged my 2023 SE LR yesterday to 80% and drove 101 miles achieving an average speed of around 53mph due to spending over half of that time on the motorway.
After 101 miles I was left with 20% battery.
Can anyone tell me if this is roughly expected? The...
hi
I have a standard MG4 , and I registered that my consumption is rocket high compare to test. In average 26 - 28 kWh/100 km
Is this as expected ?
Temperature around -5°C
Yesterday I did a 120 mile round trip for the first time and quite impressed.
I managed a 4.1miles/kWh so was quite surprised as I only get 2.4 ish around town.
I loved it, can't wait again
Hello to all Mg4 drivers,
This morning, having made a 100% charge on wallbox my Mg4 (61KW)
Indicated 479km remaining distance.
I certainly could not do it as i usually need 12 to 20 Kw for 100 km.
Wait, drive and see
I decided to make my own topic so as not to clutter others.
Continuation about working on the wind deflector.
They made my first sample. I tried to check the efficiency at a temperature of 4 degrees and it’s difficult to understand, but there is certainly less wind in the cabin. I will order...
What car recently put this out.
Some interesting conclusions:
Tesla most efficient by some margin
MG4 joint sixth most efficient, mid-table
Many cars overestimate or underestimate their efficiency by a lot, MG4 and Tesla spot on accuracy, BYDs and others lie a lot. (could this be down to...
My dno came today to try moling under my resin bound driveway to get my supply unlooped but they failed to get the mole to break out in the target trench. From what I can tell electricity northwest don't favour/allow dynamic load management as a long term permanent solution. I was going to ask...
From Swansea to Northampton, and return , some 400 miles, in my ZS EV Mk 1
80% on motorways and dual carriageways, not the most economical driving. Speed between 65 and 70 mph. With stops and business at the other end, a 12 hour day..:(
Recharging Network was great. Leaving home with an 80%...
Lol... while I was driving suddenly the GOM went UP dramatically. It thought the car does 5.9m/kwh :)
Fully charged last night to see 330 miles ( 6.5m/kwh even better). I am now balacing the battery to see if that helps. No idea what went wrong while driving. I am ok as I never use the GOM...
Hi all.
Ive had my Mg4 long range trophy for 3 months, its advertised at 281 miles withnits 64kw battery.
When fully charged it used to show 276 miles of range, the last few charges it is only showing around 196 to 210 miles.
What has gone wrong?, its only 3 months old?, could it be an issue...

Sorry if this was posted anywhere else, I couldn’t see it anywhere obvious but I’m hardly infallible.
Headline results right there.

I’m kinda surprised it’s that much but then if it weren’t companies wouldn’t bother with aero wheels/trims in the first place.
hi everyone,
After 2.5 happy years with MG5, I'm looking at changing to ID3 77kwh (just for this extra bit of range). I was considering MG4 extended range as well, but VW seems to be a little bit more efficient, and also I can get 21 or 71 plate for 25k, as with MG4 we are looking at minimum...
Hi,
What is your MG4 consumption like (city driving / Highway)?
Mine started at an average of 15.5 kWh/100km local driving and 18.7 kWh/100km on highway averaging 120-130 km/h.
Thanks
One of the days I was going home... just mix of freeway and non freeway roads. Suddenly I'm getting 12kWh/100km (5.2 mi/kWh).
Surprised and decided to aim for the Gold...
10kWh/100km (6.2 mi/kWh)
After a couple of months of mostly around-town driving with some 100km/h stretches (averaging 13 kWh/100km) I did my first real motorway drive today with a 184 km round trip in my Excite 51 (SE SR).
I still got pretty pleasing efficiency in Eco mode with one-pedal and ACC, with aircon on about...
Hi all, I am planning to buy MG4 but I am torn between MG4 Trophy Long Range and MG4 XPower. I like both models but wanted some comparison on XPower real world range and efficiency to MG4 Trophy LR. I can afford the upgrade but I want to see if it’s possible to do 150 miles journeys on single...
Drove my new ER from Norwich to Chester and back, starting with a full battery.215 miles each way,Used A roads, with only 40 miles or so of dual carriageway. Car had only 50 miles on the clock when I set out, so tried to drive conservatively at no more than 60mph. Set off at dusk each time, so...
