10mm spanner saves the day.

Its stopping the charge from the other end I had in mind.
As in how the podpoint charger may or may not kill the power after the free 15minute slurp?

Shurely we'd have more experiences if this was happening regularly?

Perhaps the issue was trying to reconnect for another charge seconds after disconnecting from a charge?

More testing required methinks... who's gonna do it? ?

Not me.

Wise man @Kithmo.
Once bitten and all of that stuff !.
The thought of being stuck there waiting ages for the recovery people only to gain a couple of extra free miles of range, makes no sense to me.
I tend to think, if I was staying about one hour then yes it maybe worth plugging in to gain the additional 25 miles of range, less than that, and it’s just to much faff to be honest.

Because it was quiet at 7am, I decided to try the 15 minutes free trick before I started my shopping and confirming the charge at my local Tesco's Pod point today.
I plugged in, sat in the car and locked it, the car started charging. 15 minutes later the Pod point clicked off so I thought I would unplug, plug back in, confirm the charge and do my shopping.
I unlocked the car, unplugged then plugged it back in and locked the car but it wouldn't start the charge.

Just for info - what did it show on the dash at this point? Is this a MK1? Thought so ?

Yes Mk1, it showed as "connected not charging" when I tried to restart the charge.
I was quite quick to unplug and plug it back in but I did wait a couple of minutes for it to start to see if it was just being slow.

Did the "time remaining to full charge" show as "17:00" at the top of the info screen?

When you unplug from the Pod-Point charger, if you wait a few seconds you will see the blue LEDs flash red. You can then plug in to start a fresh session and the LEDs go green.

It didn't get to that stage

Assuming you mean the LEDs on the Pod point, I didn't see a red flash, but I did wait for it to go back to blue before I plugged back in.

Ah, it's when it goes back to blue, a few seconds later it flashes red for a fraction of a second while it resets itself ready for the next charge.

I tried unplugging both ends of the cable again, no joy.
So I thought maybe if I start again by unlocking the car put it in Ready mode and switching it off again etc.
It wouldn't let me put it in Ready mode, "HV Battery fault" warning. I tried it a couple of times, making sure foot on brake firmly etc, no joy.
10mm spanner out disconnected -ve for about a minute, reconnected and all was well (phew ?‍?)
So it appears my Gen 1 ZS doesn't like it when the power supply is interrupted whilst it's charging.
If it wasn't for this forum and the 10mm spanner advice learned on here, I'd have been stuck at Tesco's waiting for the AA.
I wonder if the charger remembers the car and stops a recharge within a certain time? Perhaps this then subsequently messed up car?

No. Once you've unplugged, wait for the red flash and plug right back in. I did it a couple of times last month when her indoors was doing a big shop in Tescos. :)

I’m going to fit one of these. Do I need to turn anything off or doing anything before disconnecting the 12v batttery?
No - Just have the car powered completely down of course and fit the quick disconnect.
You may loose the tyre pressure figure read out, but it will recover itself.
