A wireless carplay adaptor that actually seems to work reliably?!

My wireless car link does sometimes give a black screen. Most often it’s when I have just indicated and turned and the screen goes from the onboard cameras back to CarPlay. I have found that two short presses of the home button and then pressing CarPlay button restores this once more without having to unplug and reset.

I have a similar occasional problem, but I haven't thought to try that... I will give it a go and report back.

I have the device from Ali but it cuts out when playing music, and it seems to be because the car and the phone keep connecting the bluetooth, does anyone have this problem? I have 40s delay and upgraded the firmware.

Yes, I also remove it completely from my phone and also from the car but for some reason it automatically connects when using Android auto. Did you have to delete your car from Android Auto settings as well?

I use CarPlay, but its the same in this respect - the problem is when your phone sees both the car and the dongle and tries to connect to both. Solution is to delete the bluetooth car connection from your phone so that all it sees is the dongle.

Hi. Sadly this did not work and I had to revert to using the cable. I did remove the phone from the car's Bluetooth list. And removed all the MG connections from the phone's Bluetooth list. I even removed the car from the phone's Android Auto list. When connecting it did actually work the first time, but then the problem came back. I do not understand why it keeps happening... Thanks for the replies!

I finally figured it out, seems to be a problem with Android or specifically my Samsung S23 Ultra. Tried some different settings and found one that finally worked.

Yes:
Settings - Device care - Memory - Ram plus - Turn off.
You will have to restart the phone after. I am not 100% that this was the setting that made it work as I tried a lot, and it might just be a coincidence but I would give it a try anyway. Works surprisingly flawless now!

Is that a setting which allows the phone to dynamically increase the RAM using phone storage when required? If yes then my Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (yes, I know it's a mouthful 😂) has that feature yet my phone works great with my wireless AA adapter. (I've never actually tried plugging it into the car via a cable, as the adapter works great. My previous Moto G8 Plus worked both wired and wireless with this adapter).

It might only be a problem for some phones, I found many threads regarding the S23U and AA. Maybe Xiaomi does not have this issue? Also, I had no problems with the using AA wired.

I just posted about a recent successful wireless carplay experience

I must admit to not having read all of the posts on this thread. However, there is an excellent video by Jerry Pan and Cars, recommending the carabc CarPlay adapter. It can be found at

I purchased the adapter from Amazon, around £30, followed Jerry’s instructions and it works !

I got one similar to what @siteguru has and so far for what little I've used it it seems to work ok.
When doing the update mentioned in its instruction, I couldn't get it to update using the phone as for some reason it wouldn't get data from the mobile network, and if the WiFi wasn't connected then the update page couldn't be found in the browser.
However I have been able to do it using a desktop PC, using its WiFi to connect to the adaptor, and wired LAN for the data download.
I've set a 30 second delay, but I'll see how things go and I might reduce it a bit further

I've a Carlinkit 5.0 and it works without any issues on android auto except the usb port seems to always be powered when the car is locked.
Anyone experienced this?
