Be careful if looking at ex lease cars

My ZS ICE was serviced just before I traded it for the 5SE. They sent me a video, but all it was was a fitter and a torch showing me my tyres were all 10% worn as were my pads. Nothing else so seemed a bit pointless. Also showed a very basic workshop, a bit low level Kwik Fit if you like.
Aside from AA renewal, which I already have covered with Britannia, what ARE the benefits of franchise servicing? I really want to go with Cleevely and I’m sure they dig deeper and I’ll have a paper trail SH with them. Mines on a PCP with the intention of keeping it at the end.
I can understand the desire to rebel against dealers for servicing an EV as there is b*gger all to do really, but my question is what is to be gained from going elsewhere ?
Cleevelys's are great (and others no doubt) but they are no cheaper, probably more expensive. They can officially service MGs I believe and update service history to maintain warranty but they cannot update software as far as I know, someone will tell me if I am wrong. The AA Assistance (poor naming) is worth having as it's full AA cover so why waste money on another provider ? Deduct that from the cost of the service and it becomes a reasonable cost to maintain the warranty at least for the first 3 years.

Level of service maybe? If you have a franchise dealer who looks after its customers and has well trained technicians, then stick with them. However, there are many posts on this forum about dealers who fall short of this.

My Mg5 long range was bought new a couple of months ago. 2500 miles already. Haven't bought 3 year prepay service deal because saving is minimal. MG cover on breakdowns is appealing so I think I will use dealer for servicing. Stoneacre Derby is supplying dealer.

I’m have the breakdown cover for my other vehicles - camper & classic 😉

When I take a vehicle for service it's nice to meet the person who did it. That extra question, comment or information is reassuring. Also, if I have attended for a pretend service then I could maybe use a pretend rubber stamp.

Not sure what sort of lease you are talking about here, but my mg4 LR is under a novated lease and is treated like any other. It's mine, registered to me and I receive all the normal recall, updates (under tray fix) etc like any other owner here in Australia. I have had exceptional service from my dealer and as others will attest, each dealer is independent and your experience may differ. 15 months and just clicked over 28,000kms zero issues and a dream car to drive, charge at home and never had a need to use a public or fast charger as yet.

My lease is through a company car scheme, so the lease company own the car I am effectively just renting (leasing) it. The lease company manage everything to do with the car, they insure it, tax it, service it and fix any problems with it.

All I do is fill it with electricity and drive it, as well as paying the leasing company a monthly fee for all their bits.

At the end of the lease they may give me the option to purchase but they do not have to.

Have just looked at the service list from the iSmart app and item 2 looks promising.
