London flat so rely on public charging 100%.

I found this to be a good place to storage the cable. It means even when the boot is full it’s easy to get to and out of the way.

Just thought I would share in case anyone else finds it useful.

Have you considered a frunk? I keep all my charging gear and V2L cable (not pictured) in the front, always accessible. It is worth upgrading to struts though, instead of the OE bonnet holder.

I did even more so when I had my MG5.

But as I am using the cable regularly due to always public charging:
  • I find it easier to have it at the rear where the port is.
  • It easier to open the boot. Even with the struts I would still have to pop it open using the release.
  • Boot tends to be slightly cleaner
That said I may still get a funk for items used less often.

BTW - Where did you get that frunk?

TIA

Shipping to WA, it arrived by AusPost.

Anikó informed me that they were working on a newer model that accomodates the aftermarket strut upgrade. You can see where I’ve trimmed the corners in my picture so the struts can come down all the way.

So mention you have the struts when you order. Assuming you are also getting the aftermarket struts, which I would recommend. The frunk gets in the way a bit of the OE bonnet holder thingy. I undid one bolt to loosen it and wiggle it out, as it serves no purpose for me.

Edit; I should mention, two things I really like about this design is the deep pocket for the type 2 cable, and it is installed with the same hardware the plastic cover uses, so any dealership should have no issues removing it if they ever needed to for service etc.

Phew! Nigh on $500 seems a bit steep to me. I can't justify that.
My gear fits under the boot "floor" where the "repair" kit is stored.

Charger + 10A extension cord, Type 2 cable, spare tyre tools & windscreen cleaner all catered for.

Aftermarket struts? Nah, the standard bonnet holder works just fine for me.

That's even less likely to pass my financial director's scrutiny ;)
