Can i use a Tesla charger on the motorway?

I recently spoke with my local dealer about an update for this , they said they didn't know anything about it. They said they would contact MG UK and ask the question and then get back to me, I won't hold my breath. I have a 2022 MG5 FL; has anyone with the same model as me used a Tesla charger without having to do a software update?
I bought a MG5 Trophy in February with all the updates done, apparently. Took it straight to a Tesla charger; didn't work. Took it straight back. The dealership at that time didn't know about the Tesla update but fortunately they did apply it FOC and now works.

I can confirm my MG5 EV 2023 doesn't work with Tesla chargers. Signed up to app and did all the necessaries but after several attempts at different charging stations and ports, no luck.
I used Tesla at Banbury for 5 months with no problems until Tesla blocked my MG5 Excite. People on this site speak of an update to the battery management system, sometimes paid for sometimes free. Both my local dealerships deny it's existence and tell me my car if fully updated. Good luck with that.

As has been reported widely on this forum, our knowledge of this issue appears to outstrip that of most dealers. In short, my first EV, an MG5 SR, could not and requires an EVCC update along with software. Most LR pre facelift models appear to need just a software update, chargeable on its own, or sometimes free if done with a service. My current car, an MG5 Trophy, gets it for free, at least in my experience

I have just had my 45k service at Eden Motors at Swindon. I had a warranty repair and was towed there under the MG Assist arrangement. The part could have been repaired but MG said no it must be renewed. As it was a 3 day wait for delivery I asked them if they could do the service at the same time. No problem. And they did 4 updates free of charge! Quite a shock for me having been badgering my local dealerships as I said earlier. But since I had my home charger fitted I don't give a toss.
In fact at the cost of charging overnight I will return to Eden Motors again. At a cost of £1.70 for electric I will go where service means service.

Yeah if you find a good dealer it’s worth the trip. Mine is an hour away but I have had nothing but good customer service from them. Always go out of their way to help.
Chiswick MG.

Just a quick question - I was playing with the infotainment system on my MG5 SR PFL. A list came up of chargers and one said Tesla? I will try and find the list again but I wonder if it means it will charge on a Tesla charger?

I doubt it because unless your SR has had an EVCC unit hardware upgrade, the software fix won't load. I think that Tesla ref is for the navigation software to find Tesla or any other network chargers.

Had my 2nd service on a ZS EV done by Eden, blooming brilliant in comparison to another dealer nearer to me, tip from Eden service booking team, book on a weekday and leave it all day, if you have a timed service or Saturday, times are tight and not all non urgent/critical updates may be done. Did all the updates and the Tesla one, all included in the low mileage second service price.
