Car insurance

Picked up my MG ZS Hampstead GreyTrophy on 27th Nov . My only gripe is when I told my insurance company that I brought my MG they wouldn't insure me as the car was too new . Not enough data on new model!! MG dealership only offered 24 hour cover. So i had to go to a broker which ended costing me £600 . Twice as much as my 2017 kia ceed. I tried to get quotes of comparison sites becuase car hadn't been registered before I picked it up and I couldn't get any quotes. Other dealerships offer 5 day insurance. Just wondering what everybody else is paying for insurance?
£606 for an mg4 SE SR, I'm 73 with full no claims living in Cheshire. Was 50% more than my previous petrol car in the same insurance group. Insurance companies are ripping everybody off in my opinion.

Oh dear insurance quotes at the moment are useless. Last year £800 from Allianz. Small bump which I have had to pay £1150 excess, now Allianz will not insure me I had 35 years no claim bonus but I could only put in 9 years now because of a claim I have 4 years. As stated before old codger 78.
Latest quote £1450.

As I have previously mentioned, I had similar issues. Went with Admiral. No issues at all. It would appear that others have also gone with Admiral.

I was not worried about my insurance until I have read all this thread.
My insurance is with the Beam from the AA.
I have just been on the phone to them and the only one on their system is the MG ZS Hybrid Trophy, which I got insured, but it says petrol only, so after talking with the CS agent, she said she would raise a task with the team to make sure that the car is actually insured and that the model is the MG ZS Hybrid+ Trophy edition.
I will let you know how I get on.

I spoke to my dealer and he said it is the ZS Hybrid Trophy is the correct description for the insurance, I contacted my insurance company Hastings Direct, they have now insured me for the new car, and given me £13.84p refund from my insurance on the Renualt Arkana RS line

I would check what they say fuel type is as that was another thing I needed AA to change as it said Petrol not Hybrid/Electric as it says on my V5

I just called Admiral and they said no such car on their database and that must be wrong as people on here said they are insured with Admiral.

Looks like admiral only know about the SE trim for the ZS. Strange

Still awaiting The AA to get back to me, but the quote for my old car came today from RAC, so I called up to cancel and ask about a quote for the new car.
I'm 62 in a few weeks and my partner is 60 next month, she had an accident when someone knocked into her when she was loading car. So I gave them the details of that as it was minor accident.
The lady confirmed that my car showed up as the Hybrid Trophy edition and only other one for 2025 plate was the SE.
I got quoted £922 and I have full no claims, the same details were given to AA last week and I paid £322.
I thought I would try Directline and they refused to give me a quote, what's going on with this blooming car for insurance.
I only want someone to give me in writing that my Hybrid+ Trophy is covered correctly even though it says Hybrid Trophy and its a petrol engine.
The V5 states Electric-Hybrid.
You just know if anything happens they would try and squirm out of paying if the car is not identified correctly.
