Hi all my other cars I have/the wife has owned I've had the diagnostic interface & dealer software

Like
Tech2 & TIS2000 for Saab
MDI & GlobalTIS for Vauxhall
Lexia3 & PP2000/Diagbox for Peugeot
Etc

Has anyone tried a Diagnostic interface with the MG4?
Has anyone bought a subscription for €7 to see if you can download diagnosis software?

Thanks

There's 2 different subscriptions available first one is information for €21 per day, second is diagnostic for €19 per day

Much cheaper than Vauxhall that I did for a neighbour, that was €60 for 2 hours SPS, the diagnostic software was usable offline once downloaded but had to buy additional time for programming

I think it was the €7 sub that was bought in order to get the manuals. (It was October 2023 when we got them so I can't remember all the details - too long ago). :)

Perhaps it was just an hour bought
Access to "Vehicle-specific information" and "Model-specific information": prices

I will probably buy an hour of each after buying an interface
Worst come to worst I'll just buy the software from AliExpress but hopefully that won't be needed as generally everything is web based these days

Well I've ordered a cheap VDI from Ali

When it arrives I'll get an hour on the website, if there's issues with that then I'll buy the software from Ali
Perfect, well done you - do let us know how you get on. I still have access to ODIS (VAG equivalent), it took a few weeks to register, but one done you could do the same in buying an hours access (Many thanks to the EU for right to repair)

Well there's going to be a delay, I've tried ordering 3 from different sellers, all 3 have sent a message asking me to cancel the order as they are out of stock
I'll try ordering another once all 3 have been refunded back to my card

I ended up getting this

It connects fine, only got to try the sips read the car before the hour ran out, the RMI page was going slow so it took a while to download & install

If anyone else wants to get an adapter to connect to their car, let me know & I'll share the software so it's installed ready, you need an account & to buy some time to get access to a login anyway, although the VDS software says it has an offline mode I can't currently access it but it maybe available after first login

Interested in how you get on with this ?. Do you know whether there is a newer version of the SIPS manual? The one in the downloads refered to by siteguru is dated 2015!

Sips manual is the one from RMI site on Tuesday so it is the latest
I only had a short amount of time after downloading & installing, planning on buying a day pass next time
Attached is the software page in the SIPS software, it shows the car Vs what they have on their server ✓=up to date, X=update available

By looking at the manual it looks like I'm best to avoid some as they say to do the calculation after

Not as far as I know, a few websites advertise a cracked version of VDS2 but not sure what that allows or what cars it supports as the ones I saw were 2022
Tbh it's not expensive, it was £6.03 for an hour, GM (Vauxhall) it was over £50 for 2 hours last time I had to do SPS for someone

Well I'm glad I bought a day pass this time as VDS software kept crashing the laptop so ended up taking my pc (micro Asus one) & monitor out to the car

A little disappointed all other cars I've connected to there's been parameters you can configure, couldn't find anything on this car
Went through SIPS & VDS, can software load modules, read DTC's, calibrate & carry out some testing
Updated everything it'd let me, HVAC & drivers seat said complete a couple of times but still reported the old version as well as Tbox wouldn't let me update without updating via USB first
On either software & RMI website I couldn't find the USB updates to download so still on R40 but most other modules are the latest

Cruise control now has 1mph increments from single touch
LKA no where near as bad
It now accelerates quicker
That's all I've noticed so far from 1 drive up the motorway & back

Just wondering, any MG techs that can confirm or deny if this is where the other updates are?

Also whether either of these logins will work

SAIC list it as EPC & VIN configuration
Tried EPC login & it didn't work (EPC not on RMI but they give you a login) but it was around the cut off of my subscription
Happy to get another subscription if it has the remaining updates (personally would like R46 over R59 as I use android auto a lot)

According to the translate app on my phone, that MDIP site is the "Digital Intelligence Marketing Platform" site.

I'm keen to try this out too, I bought the same dongle a while back from Aliexpress but haven't used it yet. My understanding is everything should be in SIPS or VDS, but since I haven't tried yet I could be wrong.

I assume you need a company login to rmi, or did you use a personal one?

Created a company account, asked at work & they said I could use their VAT code to register
Been through all the options available on VDS & SIPS, spoke to a MG tech online & he said they have a separate webpage/app where they enter the vin & it comes up with any updates & allows them to download the USB based updates

Ps that website came from a Google search after the tech said about a vin search

Ah bugger.

Guess he didn't give you the website address then..
