Does the MG4 EV hate LKA secretly itself?

Recently when completing the usual pre flight checks like turning off LKA, I have noticed something strange.

When the infotainment screen boots up quickly and you head to the MG Pilot tab to disable LKA, the option to do so is there, as normal, mocking me being all active and annoyingly automatically on. However, on a few occasions when it goes through a full slow boot up and you head to the MG Pilot tab, it’s not showing as an option. Like, not even listed in the menu.

Glitch maybe?, or does the MG4 EV secretly remove this, knowing your avid hatred of this annoying little option?

Anyone else experienced this?

I understand the requirement of it being always on. But sometimes the option to disable in the MG Pilot tab isn’t there at all, like it’s gone as an option to enable its self, or be disabled manually. That’s my dilemma here!

It's governed by something you do, I forget what. Maybe it appears when you hit the brake?

That’s a possibility as sometimes I have my foot on the brake, and sometimes not when pre flight checking. Good shout!, I’ll check it out and let you know ??

I have the same issue. If you get to the LKA screen too quickly, it's not there.
The solution is to wait about 30 seconds, then go back to the screen and it will have re-appeared.

Is this strictly true? Our Volvo XC60 hybrid (only a few months old) has the option to set it as alert or assist. This setting is remembered, so no need to set each time.
It's also nice that the Volvo is politely move you back into lane when is is on rather than grab the wheel from you like the MG does

It depends on when that model was harmonised/tested vs Euro NCAP regulations ... the requirement for LKA to default on came into force in 2022, when the MG4 was released. If the XC60 was released before that then LKA default on wasn't a requirement.

I stand corrected.... Volvo did an over the air update and now defaults to on

I discovered this afternoon that the option also won't come up with the driver's door open.
