EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

Whilst this is tremdous news, and clearly a step forward - I'll await feedback on here, before I allow MG to update anything on my 30/9/22 SE - as my LKA defaults to OFF! - At service I always decline any updates (every time the service desk seem delighted🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️) - do wonder if this new update will include speed warnings (at 1mph over the limit) / auto braking?, which has just been inplemented on all late 24 / new cars in the EU (where you have to turn off every time you drive the car)

I'm really hacked off

Hendy MG Exeter have had my Xpower since the 7th Jan until today to fit a steering damper (which has made things worse.)

We also had the usual conversation around LKA/AEB - this time gave them a print of the Which? article.

They told me this morning that there were no updates available - ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

No, it will not.

I saw the folowing on FB last night, but can see no other refrences to it. The detail makes me think it may well be correct. Anyone else know about this? I quote from the FB post ....

MG4 LKA update now available

""" I have learnt from a reliable source that MG has today 31/01/25 released a bulletin to all dealers where they have announced a FoC (Free of Charge) update:

Title: Lane Keep Assist Update MG4 (SC077 - Campaign)

The update is to the EPS and FDR modules on all MG4 variants. The update is as a result of customer feedback.

Dealers have been instructed to proactivly contact customers to arrange booking dates ASAP for the update and to update all stock. """

Here is what I posted on Facebook yesterday...

I'm looking forward to not having to turn off LKA each time I get in the car!

Had a new one last night driving
Had cruise control on going through roadworks, traffic cones on my right
The car frequently nudged towards the cones as I passed them, at the same time the wheel icon went from green to grey, happened about 15 times
If I had a passenger I would have gotten them to film it but I was alone
Hope this update helps with that as well

Is this using traffic jam assist as well as adaptive cruise control?

Btw you're not supposed to use driving assists under roadworks as it can get easily confused or disconnect.

To be fair, mg choiche of not providing an aural warning when driving assists disconnect due to external reasons (i.e not driver attention) is kind of baffling and potentially a safety hazard (despite technically requiring driver's attention at all times).

Hopefully eu regulators in the future will mandate consistent warnings under this scenario

Which assist system did you use?

It was tja which is what it's normally left on
It was on a motorway down to 1 lane & 40mph with average cameras for miles with some cars slowing excessively for the cameras

Surely exactly what the system is designed for

Mine doesn't show any outstanding recalls. (When the locking in recall was in force - RC008 as I recall - then I did that same check and found that recall listed).

I wonder what happens when the leasing companies get these type of notifications. I suspect they just sit somewhere being ignored so the cars will never get the updates.
Nothing from ALD about ours but it's booked in for its first service on 18 Feb, so we'll see what happens.

I had SC077 and R63 applied to my car today.

I've just done a 20 mile trip and left lane keeping. A couple of beeps as I drove towards the white line to avoid potholes, but no physical intervention. Much less intrusive to the point I won't turn it off each time now.

ACC also appears to be far more "grown up". Feels like it's finally passed it's driving test!

R63 appears to have fixed my Bluetooth issues and has massively improved hvac. Way more consistent and now leave at 22 rather than 25.

These fixes seem to be consistent.

But can you tell me what version you had before the update ? And did you perhaps get intermediate updates as well? I'm asking this because LKA become a lot milder with the May 2024 updates.

More: is the charge % ISSUE fixed?
Do you miss the pull down menus (a/c and lka) when using AA/AC?
