EV optimised Scottish Power

I left Scottish Power for Octopus the day after I had my charger (and solar and battery) installed. They phoned me three times trying to wheedle me back, asking if I'd looked at their new EV tariff, and I just kept saying, Octopus seems to be the best deal for EV charging, no offence. Eventually they gave up. I didn't even look to see if the MG4 was supported, because I'd had enough of them by then anyway.

Unfortunately mg are not on the list SCOTTISH power are offering 10p per kw. https://www.scottishpower.co.uk/support-cView attachment 29074entre/ev-optimise/eligibility-criteria
Noticed the same today. I've emailed [email protected] asking why

Response from Scottish Power:
The EV Optimise smart charging works by connecting to your car and managing its charging. To do this, we need certain capabilities to be available and enabled for your car. To give you the best possible experience, we choose to only support EV models we know are highly reliable when it comes to smart charging.
We are constantly working with our partners to expand the list of supported vehicles we have for customers, and more will become available over time. If you have filled out the eligibility form once your vehicle becomes a supported brand we will be in contact with you.

I have to say my car has behaved perfectly with the Zappi and the Octopus schedule. Even when the power was being cut then restored, it simply connected every time and took what was on offer. Any issue seems to have been with the Zappi itself dropping the charge a couple of times, as far as I can tell.

I blew them off when they repeatedly phoned to try to get my business back, because I'd decided to go with Octopus. I'm glad I didn't waste any more time with them.
