Free Tesla supercharger update from MG dealerships

I waited for my second service to have the "free" Tesla fix. They wanted me to pay for a second technician's time to do the fix. I pointed out I was already paying for a technician to do the service. "Oh no, someone has to watch the software update while it is installed". What a load of (insert expletive).

I have a ZSEV Long Range on a 73 plate. Could anyone advise if this would require hardware or just software. MG UK and my local dealership are as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Maybe try to do so first? Perhaps yours won't even need anything done, so your question would be moot. :)

My 22 plate was ‘Tesla ready’
I've tried my 22 plate once and got the "car not recognised" message. However, other people on the forum persevered and got theirs to work after a few attempts. I'm doing a 200 mile round trip tomorrow and am going to call in at Gloucester South Services on the M5 where they have a bank of superchargers and rapid chargers side by side. I'm going to do some exhaustive tests on the superchargers to see if I can get it working, and if not, I can use the regular chargers to top up.

I'll report back on how I get on.

P.S. Anyone used Gloucester South before?

I plugged in to a Tesla charger last night and all I got was the lightning symbol on the dash with the spinning circle. I'm not sure if that charger wasn't working as that's what happens when I'm at work and a charger doesn't work, I couldn't try another as all the others were full

...and did the Tesla app show anything ?

I tried every combination of plugging in and starting charging . . . the little screen on the supercharger kept saying "unauthorised vehicle". I moved over to the bank of CCS chargers and plugged in there. Nice big screens and easy to use. I was getting 53kW at 30% SOC, and 64p/kWh, which was cheaper than Instavolt or Osprey. A nice farm shop there and resaurant there too. :)

Yes, I have several times both N and S.

Just tried these superchargers today, no luck even with the app. Have up to date software on ms zs gen 1 but at least Moorlands cost is on the better side. There was ID3 next to me that could'nt get either type of the chargers to work so it could be worse!

It's not looking good for the ZS EV Mark 1. I suspect a third party solution of some kind will be required. I can't see that being anything simple, unless it's a simple hardware update to the EVCC (e.g. adding a small daughter board with £10 of parts). It's quite irritating.
