Does this trigger any ‘charging flap open’ warning message on the screen? That wasn't clear in your post. But, as I added later, I can see no harm in leaving the pin off.

Does this manual override not work on your Cyberster? Or is your flap/door not unlocking? It is not an ice or frozen flap problem for me as it NEVER snows or the temperature drop to zero C/ 32F……..I live in the sub tropics of Queensland………The fault is currently a mystery to my local dealership and they are still trying to identify it. The very important fact is that I/we should not have to have tools to pull the charge port flap/door apart to fuel up an/my expensive car (Cyberster) It is definitely a design error to not provide a manual override for an all electric/electronic piece of kit…….it ain’t going anywhere if you can't put fuel in it……..will update when I get my car back from the experts
This is a release for the charging cable, not the flap over the charging port. When you put the cable into the port and start charging, the car locks the cable to prevent anyone else removing it. When you unlock the car after charging is complete, the cable lock is released. Sometimes (rarely - and in my experience never) this doesn't work. The emergency release cable is there to let you manually release the cable.Does this manual override not work on your Cyberster? Or is your flap/door not unlocking?
