- MG4 Trophy LR
The SE and Trophy aren't rated for a roof rack but the Trophy ER and XPower are.Technically the car is not rated in the UK for a roof bar. I believe it is in other countries so seems they could not be bothered getting it rated here.
very interesting. I wonder whyThe SE and Trophy aren't rated for a roof rack but the Trophy ER and XPower are.

Weird, the SR in the Netherlands is rated for 75kg roof loadEvidence:
- Trophy Long Range has a reinforced roof structure with pre-installed mounting points (hidden under trim panels) for roof racks. This is confirmed in Chinese MG owner manuals and parts catalogs.
- SE (Standard Range) lacks these reinforcements to save cost and weight, as it’s positioned as the base model.
- In EU/UK markets, the Trophy Long Range is homologated for roof loads (typically 50-75kg dynamic, 100kg static), while the SE is not tested/certified for this.
- Chinese MG4 forums (like Autohome and Baidu Tieba) mention that early SE models had a simpler roof panel without the internal bracing found in the Long Range.
- Some Chinese owners retrofitted roof racks on the SE but reported increased wind noise and minor roof flexing, suggesting structural differences.
What's the source of that info?Evidence:

Can you share where this info comes fromWeird, the SR in the Netherlands is rated for 75kg roof load
Can you share where this info comes from
Met een trekvermogen van 500 kg en een dakbelasting van maximaal 75 kg kunt u alles wat u nodig heeft in een kleine aanhanger of dakkoffer kwijt.
In the table I posted it's only the Trophy ER not the Trophy LR that is rated for a roof rack.I don't see that this is for SE. Can you share that.
We know this is true for Trophy LR and XPower as per @Ian Key post
That website also says the MG4 does 0-100 in 3.8 seconds with it’s 180 kW motor, which is a mix of two different versions, so I wouldn’t assume that the roof rating applies to all cars. And I don't see anything specific so I assume it is for all MG4's
