Great day out with your MG? Post up a picture ?

That's quite literally my back yard!

Surrounded by the stuff! ?
Looks like your farmer has had his 1st cut of hay , on what appears to be good tank terrain. Go off the beaten track here and that's where you stay , until Pierre arrives avec un John Deere. :(

Yep, not daft!

I know what the cars capable of.
It does have a useful amount of ground clearance and 4wd but "a man's gotta know his limitations" ?

Just back from a trip to visit my Sister in Margaret River, 400Km round trip. Used 70% on the trip down and 65% on the way back.

Here's the view form Surfers Point, looking South. Immediately North, is the venue for the West Australian International surfing competition.

And back at my Sister's place as we were leaving.

Very pleased with the trip, but you can't rely on the estimated distance remaining. After charging, it said we should have about 80Km left in the tank when we arrived home, but it was only 60km at trip end.
We averaged 17kWh on the way there and 16kWh on the return, much less wind coming home.

Looks like the dog and the car are having a staring match ?
One day we’ll make it to WA.

Not strictly a day trip but we’re having some incredibly clear night skies at the moment (SE Qld) so while I was in my garage tinkering with some accessories for the MG4. I set up our ‘telescope gadget thingy’ and captured this.
It’s the Gabriel Mistral Nebula only 9100 light years from Earth. Quite a few Supercharges.
Australia has some very ‘dark skies’ so we’ll be making more ‘night trips’ for sure ?

And some exposure details if interested.

You are correct it does have tracking. I’m a big fan of ‘crowd funding’. Before Covid, a French company called Voanis, launched a product called ‘Vespera’ on the Kickstarter platform. I was captivated by a product that could take something out of the ‘too hard basket’ and put very distant night sky viewing firmly in the hands of the unworthy ;)
There were some delays with Covid and the ‘chip shortage’ but the wait was well worth it.
Some of the images could do with some sort of processing, but I haven’t ventured that far yet. It shoots targets in our solar system with a ‘live’ view. The Moon, Saturn, the Sun (with a special filter) and on one occasion Mercury. But it’s the distant objects where it really shines.
There’s an initialisation process and it maps the sky above to set its location, then suggests targets for viewing. You click and sit back and watch the results appear on your phone or tablet.
Remarkable really. Orion is a top target in the southern hemisphere. The interesting thing about the sun is it changes every day. Those sunspots come and go. You never know what you’re going to get. Much like LKA ?

Fantastic resolution, couldn't do anything like that with my 4".
You must be using an auto tracker to get a 10s exposure. I put that in the too hard basket, satisfied myself with the rings of Saturn and the Jovian moons.

I had a great time at Noosa back in the 60s. Some South Australian guys had been camped there fo a few weeks, but didn't get any swell. We arrived a day after they left, and had it waist to head high for a week. Nat, Mc Tavish and Greenough arrived with Bob Evans to shoot a movie, they then went on to double Island point, and had some great waves there.

Edinburgh now has a low emissions zone so I set off yesterday to see how clear the air can be. I started well by driving 3 miles (nearly) up to Linlithgow and parked the five by the loch.
After ten minutes I hopped on the x38 diesel bus to the capital’s Princes Street and had a coffee in the gardens in the sunshine. I then walked a couple of miles before boarding another fossil fuel burner to get back out of the LEZ - something niggles there it’s kinda back to front ??
Anyway, as I didn’t have the car with me I snapped the clear air around Walter Scott’s spaceship and Edinburgh’s fine old castle :-
