Hi All

I get a new MG4EV Trophy Long range on Monday 9th December I am sure I will have loads of questions that you guys will hopefully assist me with. My first question is regarding the built in wifi hotspot. Can I connect it to my garmin Dashcam2 so that I do not use the data allowance on my mobile phone?

Congrats on the car.

The car's in-built hotspot will only work when the car is on, so won't be of use if you want to remotely watch your dashcam while it's parked. Some people say the data is limited per month, but I've not noticed any limitations (although most of my stuff runs through my phone to be fair).

yes get that I'm not too bothered about when it is parked as it will store any parked recordings i think I may be able to get the dashcam to automatically find the hotspot when I turn on so will see thanks for getting back to me

The hotspot is not automatically enabled when you're in the car, you need to swipe down and enable from the screen menu. Not much of a hardship but you need to remember to do that before you can use it.

For info, you swipe down from the top right of the screen. A centre swipe leads to the HVAC page.

Welcome (from another newbie)... I picked up my new MG4 today too, and have just driven 150 miles home in it. What an awesome machine! Lovely to drive, quick, and feels really solid too. Got most of the menus sussed, but still much to learn about obviously.
