I'm thinking of upgrading my old pressure washer and I'm looking at the Karcher K4 especially as Karcher has 20% off this weekend if bought direct from them.

Has anyone used this for cleaning their car and is it any good?

Had mine for 3 years and it's used probably 2-3 times a week. Normal household duties plus car washing including snow foam. So yes, I'd buy another if and when this one fails.

Yes, very good. Had mine about 5 years. With no problems. Infact I've sent for the new karcher eco booster, for it. Looks like a good bit of kit. 🙂👍

I've looked at the eco booster. You'll have to let me know if it's as good as they say.

I've had a K4 for many years and is still working great, great for car washing and general house/garden cleaning. I would definitely buy one again

I decided to get the K4 Power control flex model as it has the water cooled motor but without the car and home attachments as I don't think I'll ever use them.

Then I made the mistake of watching a few YouTube videos. A few minutes later and a visit to Amazon's website found me ordering the Autoglym snow foam lance and a pressure washer gun. The excuse being that my old snow foam lance won't fit the Karcher and the pressure washer gun seems to be easier to use when washing the car.

Hi Ian - I have the K4 with water cooled motor, just bear in mind that when the winter comes, ensure you pump out any water from inside the unit, if you are storing it somewhere that is unheated.
A relative had the same machine and stored it in his shed for winter after use.
The following spring it leaked badly when turned on.
Some the internal parts are made of plastic and can split if allowed to freeze 🥶.

Arrived today. New Karcher Eco Booster, for my K4.
S'posed to be pretty good.
Report to follow. 🙂👍

How does it work? Is it just a wider sprayer that covers more area and hence and hence saves 50% on the amount of water and energy used?

My K4 arrived yesterday. Cleaned the boot liner successfully with it so it's ready for more doggy footprints. It seems to be quieter than my old Bosch pressure washer so that'll keep the neighbours happy.

I've not tried it on the car yet as it's at the dealers having the charging problem sorted and I'm not going to clean the mandarin courtesy car.

I'm a bit late to the party.

Sounds like you had made the decision and were more than half-way there :ROFLMAO:

Another forum I am on has a few guys who rate the place linked above in Oldmans post.

I went a slightly different route and bought from my local Karcher retailer.

Got a brand new K4 Compact which was being discontinued but was highly recommended by a neighbour who happens to be one of their technicians so has the metal pump and comes with a 5 (possibly 6) year warranty.

Will be interested to see how @salty gets on with his new attachment (y)

I bought one from the Karcher Outlet too - first one that arrived was broken where you put detergent bottles (someone had obviously tried to insert the bottle without removing the cap) and went back with no hassle.
Second one has been fine, had it for about a year.
