iSmart cannot bind to MG4: merged threads

I assume you mean QR code rather than bar code?

Sometimes the MG servers are busy. if it still won't work then contact your dealer. (In my case it worked right away ... the "product specialist" went to talk me through the process and I'd finished it before he'd even said 4 words). ?

Ive took delivery of my MG4 this week , wonderful car to drive. I cannor get the ismart app to bind though, it takes my details from the qr code however the app hasnt recognised the bind and continues to request a bind , very frustrating, is there a technical help line or has someone experieced a similar issue and found a resolution please.Thanks

There is potentially an ongoing issue regarding this. I would recommend to keep trying in the meantime and if after a few days it is still not working then the dealership is your route.

iSmart connection problem

Took delivery of MG4 Trophy last Wednesday. Downloaded iSmart from App Store. Could not register - getting error message that there was no network connection. Today I received the following message from theDealer: "MG are currently having a problem with the App and we are finding we’re not able...

I picked up my Trophy on Monday and could not bind the car on the ismart app but I have found the resolution. I think the process is slightly different on the trophy compared to the SE.
Once you have scanned the first large bar code your details should upload to the car following this when you try to bind a screen appears that has a 3 step process to bind. At this point a smaller QR code appears next to step one and nothing appears next to step 3 along with an error message.
To bind the car you have to go into the display settings on the infotainment and change the display from auto to light mode.
If you try the process again the small qr code will appear as if by magic next to step 3 and you can bind the car. You can then set the display back to auto as normal.
I know this sounds weird but it worked for me and I had been doing factory resets and everything else I could think of.
The resolution was provided by my local dealer.

O h I love the optism, six months, yes SIX months since I got my Trophy and Dealerships, Experts, Chinese Experts have all failed miserably to bind either my phone or multiple phones from the guys at the Dealership...ah well only thirty months to go on my lease and then I'm looking for a good old Morris Minor methinks!

I've left the car on a rapid charger, and I thought I'd see how fast it was charging. But when opened the app it didn't connect to the car, and when I tapped on "Charging Management" that's the message I got. I can select "bind now" or "later". If I choose "later", it just bounces me back to the menu. If I choose "bind now" I get my camera view with a square marked out, and "Align QR code within the frame to scan".

What QR code? The dealer bound the car to the phone and it's worked since then. Any idea what I do now?

Reboot your phone. After you've finished charging, unlock, unplug then lock your car again. Then unlock and drive it home/destination. Then lock again.

Then check the app again ... it might just be a hiccup with the car's connection to MG's servers.

Trying that now. I have to go stop the charge by 24 minutes past three anyway.

THANKS! Just rebooting the phone did it.

ETA: By the time I got it fixed it was too late to see what its peak charging voltage was from 30% - it was already well over 80% and had dropped down to about 25 Kw. Maybe next time.

Car now in garage finishing off on the granny charger, from 88% to 100% estimated to be done before seven. It's just come on heavy rain though - I just missed it. I suspect I'll give up this malarkey when the weather is really bad. In any case, as of today my domestic electricity is now marginally cheaper than that charger - by a fraction of a penny!

Hello all. I bought a mg4 trophy very happy so far. But it's been several days trying to bind my car to the Ismart and it won't bind. I scan the QR and then nothing happens just leaves the window and on my phone nothing got bind tried to login directly on the car with my login details click login and nothing happens just changes again the window to the default user menu. Anyone with this issue? Also I'm unable to add my phone as I never receive the code by sms tried multiple times and different numbers no go. Should I go back to the car dealer??

Make sure you are using the second QR code to bind the phone to the car's account.

hello i just took delivery mg4 in indonesia.
the car is imported from thailand .
i registered in ismart app in android.
when i click add vehicle. it asked to scan qr code.
i navigate in car to the ismart app. connect the car to a wifi network. qr code pops up.
scanned it and it says.
"QR code is unidentified, please try again"
very frustrating.. i cant even get to the login screen in the ismart app in the car.
anyone in thailand can help me? or do i need to install a ismart thailand version.
i tried using my local indonesian and UK ismart app. but no avail.
