Make sure when you contact the dealer you tell them what you have done - tried other AC chargers and the same symptoms persist across them all. The dealer will probably be instructed to do software updates by MG before being authorised to change the CCU but hopefully now all the dealers should be aware of the issue.

@Rolfe - you might want to merge this into the other thread.

Finally got the car back to the garage this morning, and a little Swift courtesy car. It's a manual, but at least the clutch isn't as bad as the work van I borrowed last time!!

I have asked them to conduct a lengthy charge after the software updates have been applied as I anticipate them not fixing the charge issue, and needing a CCU to be ordered. Drive door handle should be being replaced too for the little button to get fixed for remote unlocking/locking.

If anyone is following mine, I still don't have my car back.

Fault first appeared 18th March. First into dealer 29th April. Back same day. Not fixed.

Back into dealer 9th May where it still is.
Can I ask which dealer this is please?

If anyone is following mine... I give up with the dealer! Chapelhouse St Helens if you're interested in avoiding them.

Went in on Wednesday last week, got it back the same day. Had the (what I've since found to be) usual alerts from the service with the alarm systems going off. Got the car back, they weren't able to fit the handle because the wiring hadn't arrived so that's had to be re-ordered. Apparently applied software updates (R33 currently - not sure what it was before) and didn't bother to test the charging, so I tried it at home and still not working.

Called them back to explain and they said they'll have to conduct a new diagnostic before ordering a part, so they'll do that (hopefully) when it's back in on 11th June for the handle to finally be sorted.

As per the paperwork for the service package with free MOT when needed & the AA cover, it's meant to get cleaned when it goes for service, but it didn't. So will apparently get a 'mini valet' when it goes back in again.

I'll believe it when I see it... yet a few more months ahead of charging at 12x the price!

Edit - Oh and the head unit hasn't been re-activated either. From reading online I think I can do it myself, but haven't had the time to sit and try to fix it yet.

Hi yes it's the CCU, they told me last time I was in to collect cable that another person was also waiting for the same part. I will call them later in the week but thanks for the offer

Mine hasn't been ordered yet, so wonder if there's a third person needing it from the same garage. Hope you're not waiting too much longer.

So my CCU got fitted last week, 10 days from taking it in with a charging issue to being fixed. I took the car home while they were waiting for the part but when it did finally arrive the fitting took a day, pretty painless but annoying, nevertheless.

? That’s a very speedy turnaround compared to most owners in this thread.

Slightly delayed update for mine... collected car on 11th June (same day it was dropped off) - they called before to tell me they replaced the handle, apparently updated software but was R33 before and R33 still now so not sure if that's done, and they said they couldn't replicate the charging issue. I drove back to the garage, and saw my car sat there (unwashed, still annoyed!) plugged in, and it wasn't charging. I went in to the service desk and explained I've just seen it plugged in and not charging, replicating the error I advised them off (and provided charger log details etc). The engineer came out with me to take a look, and he agreed it wasn't charging. I unlocked the car and showed him it had dropped 4% since this morning, so couldn't have possibly charged at all.

He has said he's going to log a technical fault and order the CCU. I'll give them two weeks (so one more week) and then chase for an update.

It's been like pulling teeth dealing with Chapelhouse, I won't lie. We've decided we won't buy another car from them again, they've not given us a service we're impressed with by any stretch of the imagination.

Mine goes in on Friday in Coventry…………

Charging by fast/super chargers are costing me a small fortune so fingers crossed them sort it quickly

But have a list for them of ‘niggly’ faults and wanting the updates as I’m only on the R33 and have read there is a new one about.

My vehicle booked in for this Friday in St Helens. They told me they have fixed another vehicle with a different part from the CCU and are going to try this first as the CCU still not arrived. Hopefully this will fix fast charge issue.

Ooh. I'd be interested in any technical details that you can pump out of them. What is this "different part", for example, and how are they fixing it?

Could this be a dealer performing board level repairs? Somehow I don't think so. ?

Car dropped off this morning, tried to get information as to what part being replaced, the lady mumbled evccu. Also asked for update on system still on r33. Must be working on it now as never ending alarm activation messages.
