Has anyone solved the issue with trying to bind the car with the app but the car is already bound.
Either contact your dealer or MG customer services and ask them to unbind your car. They will need a copy of your log book (V5C) and might also need proof of ownership.Yes it’s my car, it worked before the update, then stopped working, so I reinstalled the app which was a mistake as I think I should have unbound it first and I need the original app to unbind, now I’m stuck with a bound car and an app which requires binding, and no way of binding and unbinding, (catch 22).
It is. The password and user name allows you to access the car's account which is held on MG's servers via the app. You can access this account from any device with the iSmart app installed using the same log in details but it will log out the previously connected device.is it not the case that the binding is to your account, rather than the specific app?
I had this problem as well, but as long as you have the correct original details of the user name, you can use “forgotten password” option. It is. As mentioned previously in this thread when logging in to the updated app you need to use the same username as you first used i.e. your phone number or email address even if you have since added the other to the app.
The problem some have is that the updated app no longer accepts special characters, you can only use letters and numbers. If the original password includes symbols (+ £ $ & etc.) you are stuffed and need to get the car unbound by the dealer who has to contact MG or MG directly.
Thanks. Forgot about the forgotton password so now edited to include it ?I had this problem as well, but as long as you have the correct original details of the user name, you can use “forgotten password” option.
I'm my own worst enemy, 2.01 was working fine and wasn't a compulsory install like 2.0 was, so I should've just left 2.02 alone but I couldn't resist an update. If the so called ota updates reported by another user arrive this year I'll be putting on boxing gloves and sitting on my hands to resist the temptation and staying well clear as dealerships have managed to brick cars hardwired so what hope do we have?My only complaint is the lack a dark mode. No pleasing some folk!
My car goes in on Wednesday for all available updates. I'm a little worried that it possibly may be a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it. Dealer convinced me that I should have it updated to latest standard. It's been really good for the year I've had it so ?.I'm my own worst enemy, 2.01 was working fine and wasn't a compulsory install like 2.0 was, so I should've just left 2.02 alone but I couldn't resist an update.
