Hi, could some clear something up for me? Is it normal to see the near side front wheel from inside the engine bay? The offside has a splash shield to stop road muck from entering the engine bay but on my car the near side hasn’t.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've stuck some Gaffer tape over min holes/ slots....I didn't like the bits of muck that had been thrown on the back of the headlights. I'm seriously thinking about trying to fit a full splash shield under the the "engine". Like my BMW X1 and my Rover 75 had......Anyone else considering this?

Some interesting ideas there however , could you confirm if the near side wheel arch is open?
Many thanks Kev.

You can see the drive shafts from both side.....I attach some photo's ...dont know if you can make sense of them!

Yes the first photo answers my question. It is odd that the A/C compressor is all exposed to the what ever the road wheel throws at it. Talking of A/C compressors, this is the largest I’ve ever seen on a car including both my RX450h and Prius PHV which also have Electric pumps.
Many thanks for you help.

I'm surprised that the underside of the 'engine' bay is not sealed.........the Rover 75 and others were well protected. I can imagine that driving through a large puddle or flooded road would allow water to be scooped up into 'engine' bay and all those HV electrics!
If anyone comes up with an idea to seal this area I would be interested.

Me too I’m surprised, but would also be interested in a solution. I suppose this is where money is saved...on another note I’ve also noticed that on a cold day the drivers foot well get cold and there is a draft there too. Any suggestions to stop the draft as this allows the car to loose heat also...

Thanks for all your replies. I think I might have sussed it. As the car also has an ICE this area adjacent the near side wheel arch is where the gearbox normally goes which would block up the hole some what. I’ll look tomorrow to see if there are any fixing points to attached a plastic screen, I have anything else now to do during lockdown!!

Hi folks, new to the forum. My wife and I have bought a ZS EV Exclusive. Previously had Rovers so coming back to MG. Agree, relatively good value for money but some of the things that are absent are quite significant. This issue of absent splash shields for the underside in front of the vehicle is very significant. Given the weather in the UK this is a must. I think we have to jointly request of MG to retro design and fit a shield.

That’s a good idea, but how do you get the message to the people that make such decisions....

I know of someone who may be able to help.
Mr Miles R from Chorley Group (MG dealership). I believe Stuart Wright the administrator of this forum is in contact with Miles. Stuart could may be ask Miles to be spokesman for the owner forum with MG. I hear MG and Nissan have a lot of respect for Miles as he been instrumental in getting their EVs on the market here on the UK. Does Stuart read all the post or do we have to contact him separately.

I read a large number of the posts but not all.
I have been in touch with Miles, but I don't own an MG and I think this would be better coming from you owners.
If you phone him at the Chorley group, you should be able to get his email address. Don't share it publicly here, though, obviously.
This is his LinkedIn account

Edit: The premises will be closed, but they are running a live chat.

Hi Folks,
I note Stuart's comments and also Franks item on a possible solution. I think we should however link up with Miles anyway if not for this under engine bay splash protector issue then at least for other issues particularly software updates etc. Does any of you live in Burnley were he is based? If so maybe you may want to take the lead on this and speak to Miles. I will have a go at the Chorley Group Live Chat tomorrow as Stuart suggested and update you.

Hi Folks,
The Chorley Group Chat is a buy only service.
Seems there is no after sales chat at the moment so we really cannot make contact with Miles there.
It has been suggested to me that the way forward is to actually invite Miles to be an unpaid honoury member / EV consultant / opinion lead to this forum.
This will put another string in his well distinguished career bow and would mean we will have a good channel of communication with MG.
If you are in agreement, I will send a private message to Stuart to ask that he forward such a request to Miles on our behalf.
Please comment on if you want us to proceed as such.
Please check Miles profile in Stuart's link above.
